I think Speakerboxxx is a way better album than The Love Below tbh

Big Boi >
It's funny that you say that. I would MUCH rather listen to Speakerboxxx, but for what it's worth (and for what the album is for that matter), The Love Below is probably better than it is given credit for, but I can't think of ANY situation in which I would feel compelled to listen to it.

Also in reference to Love Below, I've always felt like it's one of those albums that is good for what it is, but when it comes to missteps on the album, they tend to be forgiven in the name of being "creative, experimental, pushing the boundaries of hip hop"

The Love Below definitely had it's moments, though. Hey Ya, Roses, and A Life In The Day Of Benjamin Andre were all great.
yeah theres still classic shyt on there...theres def a couple joints i wasnt able to appreciate at that particular time but ive had moments with all of them. its an interesting record. i just wish it didnt pretty much end after that...

noticed no one mentioned Idlewild.

atliens and elevators got major radio play. i was 5 and 6 and even i remember
What Chris Cool said, and as if radio play and shyt even matters bruh...come on now.

like what @mobbinfms said

elevators got (some...........) play, i mean i didnt even realize till years later that they did a video for the song ATLiens

no hate, i love kast
but when u compare the albums & hit songs for '96
(and let me be clear im only referring to outkast music type NOT gonna include hardcore, gangsta shyt that dominated back then)
fugee -the score
ATCQ -bests rhymes & life
de la -stakes is high
busta -the coming
roots -illdephia halflife

IMO (fugees the score) is the only classic & the rest including ATLeins are all near classic 4-4.5 mics albums

I think it had a lot of good moments actually (moreso because of the production and overall sound of the album) if you're into that kind of thing. This might not be a popular opinion, but I've always felt like I would've enjoyed this album just as much if not more if Andre hadn't been singing or doing anything on most of the songs (in essence, an instrumental) although that may not be saying much since I probably "respect" this effort more than anything.

i like idlewild but i like the movie. if we take the movie out of the equation i still feel big boi's part was underrated. Morris brown, the train, peaches, buggface, etc. i feel all them shyts is dope and got overlooked because of dre.
