King of Rock is my ALL-TIME favorite RUN-DMC album. That shyt was flawless and it ALWAYS gets overlooked because it is pigeon-holed between their 1st LP and RAISING HELL.

His post-8 Mile classics aren't as classic as his pre-8 Mile classics, but they're still classic.

:wow: king of rock IS SEVERELY SLEPT ON.

Like I said, I think King of Rock has some classic songs on it (the GOAT title track, "Can You Rock It Like This," "Darryl and Joe") but as an album, it doesn't come together for me. Even the group themselves said they rushed this album because Profile said they wouldn't see the cash advance on the first one until the second one came out.

I was actually disappointed at first because the album title made me think Run and D were going to rap over hard rock and heavy metal samples for the whole LP. :mjcry:

We're cool, cool cats, it's like that
That's the way it is, so stay the hell back
We're causing hard times, for sucker emcees
'Cause they don't make no songs like these
PERIOD!!! :feedme:
