'Run-DMC' & 'Raising Hell' are seen as their classic albums. They made albums in a singles era though. Still, Those albums have such a smattering of essential rap songs that they kinda transcend the shortcomings the album format of that era tends to have.

You can throw a dart at the track list of either album and hit an all time classic jam.

Why are there less than 30 votes for Run DMC albums though? (Rhetorical but still)

I didn't have a chance to vote, but

the first 3 albums are all classics.

Run DMC, King of Rock and Raising Hell are all essential listening if you are anything more than a casual hip-hop fan. They really set the tone for hip-hop to get out of the 'basement' in a sense, and it showed because rappers were cribbing elements of their rhyme schemes and production well into 88. DMC is one of most unsung rappers of all time, and Jam Master Jay had some of the cleanest cuts in the industry. Raising Hell is their seminal album though and for good reason. It was just a blast to listen to on your boombox, or out of your whip.

Tougher than Leather wasn't a bad album, but hip-hop was starting to shift and they were a step behind.

Back out of Hell was just dated.

Down with the King was actually dope, imo, even though no one really checking for them like that at that point.

Crown Royal was just pathetic.
