SGA showed signs of being an all star at that time. He was one of the up and coming young players in the league. No one wins MVP without at least having a good regular season. It took time for OKC to build and get to that and part of that was them having so many draft picks. Hindsight is always 20/20. Would Shai have been league MVP on a team that was on the treadmill. No way.
Kawhi was hands down the best player in the league when he played in 2019. The question for him was, can he carry a team with no depth. He cannot because he's always sitting. We always knew Kawhi would get his rest. The biggest disappointment was PG. The window has closed on the Clippers. Kawhi is chilling into retirement. He's at home there. He's not going anywhere unless San Diego gets a basketball team. The clippers need to dismantle the team and start their rebuild again.
Yup shai as a rookie avg 10 points on nearly 50% shooting and 37% from three as a 4th option
