Man reading the comments I was worried but I just listened and this sh*t is hard as f*ck.

Fred.
It's dope. I just think some of the reaction is due to the hype. This album been hyped to all hell in recent years. It's not like a Grinding or a Mr Me Too or even a Kinda Like a Big Deal.

I always think of these big "moments" when Clipse drops a lead single (Grinding, Mr. Me Too, Kinda Like a Big Deal). And their lead singles just have this (hard to put into words) feeling to them, and to me this doesn't. It just sounds like a strong album cut that just happened to be released as the single.

I do like it, though.

I agree in theory but not in practice.

Let's put it like this. If Nas drops a single tomorrow are you going to judge it on it's own merits or compare it to "It Ain't Hard To Tell" and "Nas Is Like"?

Should a new Rae song be compared to "Glaciers Of Ice"? Should a new Jay song be compared to "D'Evils"?

You get what I'm saying?

As long as the new song is dope that's good enough for me. I never remotely expected this sh*t to be "Grindin' 2" so it not being on that level was never a factor.

Balanced assesment.... I thought it was hard as fukk, but it left me wanting it to be longer. After Malice's verse I was expecting another round of the hard drums and verse or two with a bridge.....

Also need to give it space to have its own lane. Fans, me included do get caught up in wanting a "Grindin' 2" and "D'Evils 2", etc. If you want that song and sound, then put that song on repeat. This is supposed to convey its own feeling...... I do think they should've kept the monolgue that was included in the trailer intro on the song..... might have to do some blending when the shyt drops....:banderas:

That monologue was from Fincher's "The Killer", I assume they didn't even try to clear it for the actual single.
