The part about him being a draw before entering the octagon makes all his talk of part timers stealing the spotlight from younger talent hypocritical in hindsight.

I completely agree, and I hate hypocrites. No doubt, there are lots of reasons not to like him and as I said, I don't particularly like him myself. Found him entertaining as hell as a wrestler, but always knew I wouldn't like him as a person.

But I do respect that he's even testing himself at such a physically demanding sport, and starting from scratch to do it.

Based on things he's complained about before, yes, he's a hypocrite. But at least Punk is putting in the hard work of training over a long-ass period of time to somewhat "earn" a spot on a UFC show. Shaq, Snooki, Maria Menounos, Pete Rose and many others all collected WWE paycheques by appearing in the ring without doing anything close to that kind of training.

no one is expecting him to come out and dominate in practice, but gotdamn.... 1-15? at some point they need to pull the plug on this.

Punk needs to be humbled, but hopefully he doesn't get killed at this point. the best thing for him is to just keep "getting hurt" and slowly fade away for a couple years. Vince will be ready to pay him with a similar deal that Lesnar has.
