Hard not to be when the mechanisms that previously allowed people to start adulthood are broken. This is what y'all keep glossing over with these self righteous pats on the back

This is flawed logic all around

That monopoly game you speak of is the reason so many people had children in the first place. We've had more births in the past 100 years than all of human history. Why is that?

The systems that allowed people to work and buy property are what make people feel comfortable to have children. When that game is rigged people begin to opt out. It's that simple. Before the creation of infrastructure like the middle class the overwhelming majority of people didn't have children

The ebbs and flows of breeding have always been determined by external factors, natural or otherwise

Tell them bro.

You know how EASY it was for white folks to get houses in the 40's, 50's and 60's? And even before then people had more kids to work land.

Now with neither of those contexts in place...why would you? Also, we're always glossing over the fact that most births are accidental. Especially back in the day people were not sitting around "family planning". People were fukking and if she got knocked up, she got knocked up.

Ole coitus interruptus failed plenty of our fathers. That's why you see the birthrates in developing countries still high, because people aren't working or enjoying the trappings of modernity as much as other countries. And women are significantly less in control of their own reproductive rights as well. That shyt is biting China in the ass right now. They are literally RUNNING OUT OF WOMEN all because that society valued male births more.

your logic is flawed, you said the "game" is the reason people had so many chidlren which is not the case, people have been having plenty children since the beginning of time, especially people with nothing. Its when people gain more material wealth they want to have less children in this modern world.

It is the case you just keep ignoring context and facts.

Again there have been more births in the last 100 years than any point in human history. Earth's population wasn't even 2 billion in 1924, and it took centuries just to reach that. The population has nearly tripled since then. You can track population growth with development of infrastructure this ain't some shyt I'm just making up:dahell:

"Nothing" is relative. If it's 30,000 years ago and you're born into a village with dry land and minimal animals to hunt, you're not going to have as many children as the village with animals everywhere and more fruits than they could ever eat. The same logic applies today. If the average American is working just enough to pay bills and no one is able to afford a home anymore they're not going to want to have children to add to an already heavy burden

Again external factors have always determined breeding patterns. If this were 40 years ago you'd probably have twice the amount of kids you do now because of the economy. If this were 200 years ago you would probably have 200 kids because you were a slave

People have nieces and nephews, aging family, would give to charity and on top of that spend it on themselves. Part of why millennials and gen z travel so much is that they've delayed having kids.

I'd dare say, in this next cohort of kids (born post-COVID) they might be some of the healthiest mentally out there. Older parents with savings and decent world experience, knowledge of the digital world and its pitfalls, emphasis on mental and emotional well being, knowledge of how shytty certain foods and traditions are.

....
I doubt it.
Older parents are more likely to die early in the child's life and take all that knowledge with them to the grave. People know how bad drugs and alcohol are and plenty of people still dying from drugs and alcohol. And we've seen how the internet has been turned from a tool of information to a tool of disinformation. We'll still have plenty of conflicts between nations bringing people to war and dealing with the consequences that brings ... I just can't see it.

Problem is, the amount of livable land and trees are not increasing, but humans still want to have their 10 kids and a big ol house. Post WWII medicines and medical treatments/ procedures saved more lives than we Will ever know, and not most places outside the northeast US are experiencing the shocks of overpopulation like crowded rush hours, running out of certain foods, and even farms are doing unnatural methods of hastening the process of growing foods because the demand is just way too high.
