this is news to me. i haven't seen the movie but according to some boycott posts it was historically inaccurate. so the movie actually does portray that the tribe was trading slaves, where is the alleged historical inaccuracy :what:

For the record there was DEFINITELY criticism and calls for boycott for both Django and 12 Years A Slave. Spike Lee dissed both the movie and Quentin Tarantino so bad that Samuel L Jackson had to come to Tarantino’s defense.


The difference is that Twitter and social media wasn’t the juggernaut that it is today, so EVERYBODY’s voice is amplified.
Came here to post this. I remember both films catching heat. But it's easy to push a certain narrative if you see what you wanna see.
