CNN: "Isn’t it interesting that some of those calling most loudly for the BOYCOTT of The Woman King ARE BLACK MEN?"

People aren't saying #Boycottwomanking because they hate Black Women or don't want to see Black Women succeed in Hollywood. Like others said, it is because the story is BS and tries to create heros out of people who were not on the right side of history. All in the name of women empowerment.

As historical figures this group captured black people and sold them to cacs.

All these dumbass women are thinking about is we're in a movie and you're jealous.

It's like trying to explain common sense to a child that commands a nation
Similar to last year when some people were :what: about "Slave Play."

But c00ns were :obama:for finally showing the love affair on the plantation that existed between massa and his slave wenches.

They're not wrong.

And someone is posting anti-Black The Federalist talking points in here? :mjlol:

Because conservative cacs love Braveheart, 300 (About warmongering and enslaving Spartans), Gladiator, and the Patriot.

Movies that are overwhelmingly historically inaccurate but that's irrelevant because as white men they get to imagine themselves as the white male characters doing cool stuff.

Which leads to the basic fact that most of the anger for this film revolves around, "hey we as men wanted to be prominently featured in a cool African action movie instead of Black women."

Which is understandable but reveals that the resentment towards the movie was about nothing serious just gender representation.

Because as I already mentioned there weren't any boycotts against Django because a lot of Black people weirdly admire Tarantino despite his overt racism in his films whenever Black people are in them.
And his obsession with filling his various film's dialogue with the n word for no reason other than to use it :mjpls:

Nor was there any smoke for the 2 different versions of Underground Railroad.

Or 12 years a slave.

And there wasn't much support for an anti-slavery film like Birth of a Nation by Nate Parker. It was instead shredded along with the director and faded into obscurity.
But a movie about Black African women warriors? Well rally the gang and start the boycott :martin:

For the record there was DEFINITELY criticism and calls for boycott for both Django and 12 Years A Slave. Spike Lee dissed both the movie and Quentin Tarantino so bad that Samuel L Jackson had to come to Tarantino’s defense.

The difference is that Twitter and social media wasn’t the juggernaut that it is today, so EVERYBODY’s voice is amplified.

:gucci:YOURE MISSING THE BIGGEST POINT.

SLAVE CATCHERS WERENT TURNED
INTO HEROS IN THOSE MOVIES.

Yes, Boycotting this film was a big topic because of the whitewashing it tried to portray. You think they just made this article up because of a few tweets?:why:
Big topic online?

I'm only on here and IG and haven't heard much about it.

At the same time IRL I haven't heard anything about this other then from folks saying it's a black panther rip off and that's from only 1 person that. They don't know shyt anyway.
Shut up. Always one of you idiots with some dumb reply as this
Have fun exhausting yourself over this.

Black Self-Sufficiency
This reaction is expected. There will always be a Black face backed by a White media conglomerate trying to shame Black men for not supporting something they put out that some of us find repugnant. For some it is a feminist triumph piece showing strong women winning battles against men, and it makes them feel powerful to watch it. For some it is a misrepresentation of what the tribe was really about and the attempt to make the tribe out to be the heroes is something we can't support. Some of us feel respecting our ancestors who were enslaved by the Dahomey is more important than supporting a movie screen written by two white women that is about our slaving ancestors.

Dont agree with all these points but your mostly right. Just because you have a valid reason for boycotting. Doesnt mean your mind didnt create a valid reason, based on a bullshyt reason:mjlol:. Thats the power of the human mind. Racist create valid reasons not to hire black people, even though the truth is they are just racist. And truthfully they wouldnt use those reasons to deem a white person unqualified. Maybe its the timing, but Im sensing this boycott is based in anti women/feminism. And black men feeling left out in favor of black women. Even where it doesnt really make sense.

I believe a small minority are being sincere. But the rest I just refuse to listen to. They will be right back to watching the countless Tubi movies that glorify black drug dealers and killers as heros later on.

If the woman king shows they traded slaves. Not sure how they could possibly be seen as heroes if you dont love slavery:mjlol:. Sounds like its not ommitted, and anyone who decides to leave the theatre and promote them as heros despite knowing they were slave traders. Cant really blame that on the film.

plus who is to say that some people in that community didn't agree with slavery. look at the US, the rulers do what they do and at least half of the people don't agree with it. even american soldiers don't agree with the wars they participate in. at some point in time soldiers didn't even have much of a choice if they were drafted. That doesn't stop people from the outside looking in thinking that all americans are trash.

people love to one way tf out of things lol
