To flip this back, if you were told you could either have Cody Rhodes (who was directionless for over a year and getting mixed reactions) reupped or use that money to sign Buddy Murphy, Keith Lee, and Swerve Strickland, what would you do?

I'd sign none of them and offer that money plus more to Batista to come in and have a couple matches

Cody gave up on being a politician, sold out the one original thing he was associated with, and cashed in on his value as a "former AEW star" in WWE.

His word means less than nothing, and I expect nothing less than Vince making an absolute clown out of him.

His first match is with the workhorse of the company, he won't have the theatrics, he's humiliating himself worse than if he had to kiss McMahon ass in the middle of the ring.

Can't believe how many people seem to take the word of professional carnies so seriously :pachaha:

Khan could have all that though. Same dude talking about having more money than Vince & bringing new people in every 3 weeks isn't making talent decisions based on money if he really wants them there. Cody being direction less also falls on Khan since he ultimately makes the call on creative (somehow he doesn't get blamed for allowing all the Cody & Brandi stuff people hated to make TV though) & according to Khan the reaction to Cody was intended.

I think Vince will give Cody a decent push at the start (maybe even a championship run) but, WWE fans will get tired of him once the excitment of getting an AEW guy goes away. Cody's just not that good without the gimmicks.

In AEW, Cody had the power to add all of the bells and whistles to his matches. Cody loved to overbook his matches. Crazy spots, outside interference, tables, tons of blood, celebrity interactions, fire. It's like he knew that he had to do the most for people to like him.

In WWE, Cody won't be able to hide behind the gimmicks. He won't be able to name drop the other company in every promo for a pop. He'll have to rely on his own ability without the extra privileges he got in AEW.
