You want to know why? She's signed to Republic Records. What is Republic Records?

"Republic Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group (UMG)."

Make My Day samples Pump Up The Jam, which was released on SBK Records. What is SBK Records?

"SBK Records was a record label, owned by Universal Music Group, that is currently part of the Capitol Music Group, where it is in hibernation."

Man's World samples It's A Man's World, which was released on a now-defunct label that was then sold to Polydor Records. What is Polydor Records?

"Polydor Records is a German-British record label that operates as part of Universal Music Group."

My Body interpolates/samples It's My Party, which was released on Mercury Records. What is Mercury Records?

"Mercury Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group."

The only track that isn't sampled from the UMG library is bytch Girl, which is Sony (Hall And Oates). Old music is being streamed more than new music. Catalogs are being sold for hundreds of millions of dollars. Sure SHE won't get paid shyt, but the streams this album generates will be eaten up by the samples. The label is essentially paying itself.

You can only hope that they're giving her the clearance at a huge discount because of their part of the ownership.

When funkmaster flex dropped the 60 minutes of funk series everyone freestyles over loud records artists beats because loud pretty much gave the clearances for next to nothing.

She will NEVER have a song better than her pop's "Bellowzino"

NEVER

I’ve said it many times on here —Bellowzino is the greatest thing Benzino has recorded. This shyt still slaps and is a BET Uncut classic.

Can only imagine what someone like 50 or Fab — cats from that time period — would’ve done with this record.

She will probably make more money this way, she’s gets the label push exposure and can use that to charge bigger booking fees, get commercials and endorsements be booked at festivals and so on. Independent is not the route for everybody there is a lot of benefits to signing for a major, people have been too focused on pushing the narrative that being independent is the best route all the time, the same way they push the narrative that being an owner is also the best route.

Yet I would rather have shares of 5-10 % billionaire company than be the majority or sole owner of a company that only generates 100k a year.

Ray and Dave fùcked off The Source and it could’ve been part of her “legacy” and likely should’ve evolved into whatever the fukk Complex turned into

Bigger booking fees and anything else she's signed too is a 360 deal. The label is eating off all of that. They're not talented so who cares label just found an avatar for their garbage, she's not a real artist

'social media engagement'
'she can charge bigger booking fees'

Y'all are more concerned with industry politics than actual music. shyt is mad cringe.

"she needs to do __________ to increase social engagement by a factor of 10x!"
"she should go independent"

Bunch of arm chair record execs. If you guys have so much knowledge on how to maneuver in the music business then why don't you start your own record company?

Other women contrary to what the coli thinks support each other more than we do our artists. Sometimes it comes at a cost like what we are seeing in this thread :mjlol:
They definitely support ‘em. Lol… The trade off sometimes it’s a bit of their personal life I guess with relationship shyt… but even that can be fake and hold their interests in between projects or whatever they’re selling. It’s interesting
