I spun this earlier (more like played the first 10 seconds of each song) and damn, this is a desperate hit-chasing ass album lol

Every single song sampled a popular known record. Is this the new wave? We're back in 97?!

She sounds less annoying tho and not really biting Carti anymore. I dunno maybe this will work for her

You want to know why? She's signed to Republic Records. What is Republic Records?

"Republic Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group (UMG)."

Make My Day samples Pump Up The Jam, which was released on SBK Records. What is SBK Records?

"SBK Records was a record label, owned by Universal Music Group, that is currently part of the Capitol Music Group, where it is in hibernation."

Man's World samples It's A Man's World, which was released on a now-defunct label that was then sold to Polydor Records. What is Polydor Records?

"Polydor Records is a German-British record label that operates as part of Universal Music Group."

My Body interpolates/samples It's My Party, which was released on Mercury Records. What is Mercury Records?

"Mercury Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group."

The only track that isn't sampled from the UMG library is bytch Girl, which is Sony (Hall And Oates). Old music is being streamed more than new music. Catalogs are being sold for hundreds of millions of dollars. Sure SHE won't get paid shyt, but the streams this album generates will be eaten up by the samples. The label is essentially paying itself.
yep. I came in to state this. Remember when Large Pro sampled "human nature" for Nas? Well nas was signed to columbia, owned by Sony. , Thriller was on Epic which was also owned by Sony. Sometimes samples are very easy to clear when the label have to ask themselves to clear it. Of course you've got to ask the publisher along with the copyright owner, but it's very easy to get your own label to clear a sample for your usage.

Who’s her target audience? She’s sampling songs that people in her age range would swear they’d never listen to. That James Brown one kinda straight though
