I actually believe the exact opposite. Coke is a better artist hands down. Dot can rap his ass off, no one wants those problems. He's got great concepts too. But him actually rapping is too wordy for my taste. It loses punch in my opinion being too rappity rap and not enough catchy artistry.J. Cole indeed is a better EMCEE. Kendrick is a better overall artist/ performer. But he isn't necessary a GREAT emcee. He is an amazing lyricist... but take away the theatrics and him mumbling expressions to disguise effect... he is average with just a mic and a DJ. J. Cole with just the mic and nothing else can MOVE the CROWD more effectively than Kendrick.... the difference with Kendrick is his atmospheric setting... but strip that away and just EMCEE... he's average.
Yeah it's okay to like both of them. I honestly dislike J. Cole's stans more than any other stan base.Is it okay that I like them both?...

I think tale of two cities is a great example. Cole had a cool concept and made it catchy and bang. Wasn't lyrical as Kendrick was but I'd prefers coles
I've never in my life encountered a J Cole stan other than Giselle. Whether it's on the Internet or not..Yeah it's okay to like both of them. I honestly dislike J. Cole's stans more than any other stan base.
nikkas posting metacritic scores for rap albums?

Ill never understand why people hate on him. He keeps to himself and does everything he can to make enjoyable music. I've always viewed him as the guy who is "Alright" which everyone gets along with..hes also not in the spotlight as much as Drake and Kendrick, getting a platinum album without any features should be applaudable.
Sorry but I cringe when people try and act like 2014 FHD is on the same level as TPAB.nikkas posting metacritic scores for rap albums?

Yea, we may have to agree to disagree. I view Kendrick as an EXCEPTIONAL conceptual artist. He has a vision in how he want his music be themed, as well as getting the best musicians possible to fit with his musical vision. And it works as to how his constructs his albums and his live performances. But as for being a PURE emcee, he's not even the nicest in his OWN crew let alone versus J. Cole.
J. Cole is the opposite. Despite mostly producing his own music, it's not necessary his strength and at times his detriment. He is not as conceptual or visionary as Kendrick as an artist, but when it comes to just EMCEEING... he is exceptional. He can bring the wit, the charisma, the punchlines and metaphors and know how the work the stage without even needing any extra theatrics or atmospherics. He is a PURE emcee. This is mostly why he got such a loyal fan base....it's not because of his albums, it's because of his performances and people able to connect to him unlike any other mainstream artist out. I have NEVER heard anyone say they became a J. Cole fan due to the release of whatever album, yet his fanbase continues to grow after each release and that's mainly due to his shows because as large as the Madison or as intimate as his Dollar & a Dream tours.
It is because of THAT is why J. Cole is CURRENTLY outselling Kendrick without major promo. Nothing to take away from Kendrick, because again, Kendrick IS the better OVERALL artist/performer. But just in regards to being an emcee...J. Cole has a larger stage presence, vocal presence, more charismatic, wittier and grounded wordplay, and knows how to connect with his audience better.
