None of that shyt is kendricks "vision" dude has a team of producers and artist who makes the sound for him.

It's his album and his direction.... what are you talking about? Both conceptual albums are personal ventures of his life...how you figure it is not his "vision"?

Because the people he has actually producing that "sound", had that same exact sound long before they were ever involved with him.

It's not him making the arrangements, or choosing the instruments, etc.

It's all opinions.

You acting like a Stan right now:smh:

And you said Cole stans were annoying
I'm far from a Kendrick Stan.

I know it's opinionated, but honestly TPAB is better than 2014 FHD in every category. Production, lyrically, conceptually, sonically, musically, creatively... It's just better. J. Cole takes no risks and it shows.

Again. This is your opinion.

Only factual thing here worth addressing is the "takes no risks shyt" and that's demonstrably false.

In reality FHD was the "unnamed and unmastered" before kendricks.

He followed no existing blueprints when putting that album out, and didn't really have the blessing of the label, even they thought he would fail.

There's also plenty of risk within the lyrics in the songs, and the fact that he handles the production himself without any features.

****.... idk
Why? Because Cole takes it to the maxima? Nissan.

Probably because he followed your moves all week in Twitter and made a gay nikka reconsider.

Or is it because his flow is bananas that he wants you to peel back?

Maybe because he's "just playing" and you like to have a good time. Idk.

As a J cole fan I must say that's not true.
:camby:this can be done with any artists

You're reaching like a muhfukka

TPAB is what everybody thought 2014 FHD would be like. A powerful soulful black album. What was it? More of the same ol safe produced safe lyrics from J. Cole. Be Free that Cole performed on Letterman is what we wanted that album to be about. Not lame shyt like Wet Dreamz, GOMD, Hello and the other plethora of mediocre songs and bars/singing on that album.

The unreleased.unmastered and FHD comparison is laughable

If we look at the actual lyrics, then Coles album was more this than kendricks. Kedrick and his handlers did a great job at playing the "pro-black" game but ultimately the lyrics are not there.

Let's look at "alright" a song that's being used as a "pro-black" call to arms.

The hook says "we gone be alright" presumably as a response to black peoples tough time in America.

But when you actually get to the lyrics of the song, there's nothing there. He just mentions the "po-po" a couple times and references police violence in a very benign way, and all of a sudden it's a "pro black call to arms" song.

shyts shallow as fukk.

And I say that as someone who truly likes the song. The majority of the rest of the album is just hiphop songs with a jazz/funk influence which has been done before and better.

In comparison Coles line about culture cultures was more risky than anything Kendrick said in this album, while Kendrick has a white girl singing on his supposedly "powerful pro black" song :mjlol:

It's funny Yall like to claim kendricks music is so pro-black. Then you wanna post the metacritic of 25 cacs drooling over kendricks music:martin:

You didn't want the album to be anything. You've been clear from jump you are not a fan of his, which is fine. But then don't turn around and talk about what you wanted from him.

News flash. Sex and relationships are a very big part of a lot of people's lives. They relate to those songs because they surface real emotions in the listener. Again you may disagree, but pretending other people can't connect with those songs just shows how hard you are stanning:smh:

The unreleased.unmastered and FHD comparison is laughable
I only compared the overall premis surrounding the two albums release. You claimed FHD took no risks. That's demonstrably false.

Well, this is a lie, considering I've been a fan since his mixtapes. The album is overrated period, I'd go as far as saying it's one of the most overrated albums in hiphop in the last 5 years. It's going to be funny when Cole's next album shyts all over 2014 FHD and stans realize how overrated that album truly is. I know Cole can do better
