can’t remember why but nipsey threatened this reporter…reporter had an MMA background and more or less said they could set up a match…ultimately they spoke and nipsey’s tone became a bit more positive

Reporter laughed at puff trying to buy a nfl team. So nip said something like we should be beating his ass lol

ya I ended up watching the video to refresh my memory…he was COMPLETELY out of order with the references to puffy being high off of blunts and 40s…what’s crazy is puffy never really even put that kind of imagery out there

Nip wasn’t a megastar but he was known and each year grew his fan base.. what’s the problem with people enjoying his music after death and becoming fans.. if y’all remember some of the early 2010s he was on XXL freshman list songs with Ross ,Thug, Drake, YG, Tyga ,Game etc.. if you were on datpiff or livemixtapes you came across his music . No one is saying he was as big of a star like Kendrick or Drake but he wasn’t some bum..
Nobody said he was anything like a bum.

This entire threads momentum is solely due to one dude refusing to accept that Nipsey wasn't That Guy in hiphop before he died.

Like I said before, imo the perfect placement for him was like a step below Big Sean.

Had his fans and his discography but he was still climbing up the ladder.

It's the Gen Z generation. Because they're dumb and weren't adults 5-7 years ago, they didn't fully experience it, so it didn't happen.

They say Jay-Z was never popular. That Kobe was never considered Top 5 or Top 10. That Drake was always a star and never once struggled to find success.

Always dumb, dumb takes.

I would say that Nipsey was a popular mixtape/underground artist with some commercial success. He was somewhere in between Big KRIT and Curren$y in terms of fame. His death obviously made him more popular but, people acting like nobody who followed rap didn't know of him beforehand are dummies.

I agree with this.

Yeah, and I thought Nipsey H. was some new up and coming comedian with a play off the old Nipsey's name. Didn't know he was a hip hop artist.
That'd be kinda foul...have comedians tried that where their name is a slight variation of another's?

Naw you wouldn't survive in the comedy world. No one would book you. Fans wouldn't respect you. Comedy is one of those art forms where being original is really respected and expected. Biters get exposed and shunned.

:mjlol:Family Guy spoke nothing but facts.

:mjlol:I said it back when he passed. Nipsey wasn't getting spins like that before he died, yet was compared to Jesus (seriously) after he died.

:mjlol:Hell, even in Cali he wasn't getting spins. He was known more for his interviews than his music.

Always found it fascinating how Celebrity deaths impacted their stardom

For example when Pop Smoke died he was known

After he got killed his status succeeded even more
It's a weird phenomenon.

Something about death turns them into deities
