Im menace fan, Boyz was just on the other night. But menace is a better movie to me.Ok I get it

How could you not see Boyz N the Hood??
I've seen them both 1100 times. Can't stand tre's mom wish they woulda fleshed her character out more. I felt menace did that a little better for the screen.

Furious vs Caine’s grandfather/ Mr. Butler being a voice of reason in the movie makes the difference for me …

Furious and Mr butler were the gems for me. Tre kind of witnessed everything happen to everyone else and the only thing that affected him was Ricky getting shot. Caine was either deep in some shyt, causing some shyt, or doing some shyt. The liquor store, jumping that girls cousin, robbin dude for his rims, Harold getting shot.
I felt like there was too much distance between tre and his immediate surroundings like maybe he didn't kick it with them everyday. And I know he hung out with his pops which was cool, but it felt like Caine couldn't distance himself like he was immersed in his surroundings.

That's how my parents had me answer the phone. Though I'd try to avoid it and got in trouble on ocassion for not answering correctly when my grandparents called.

I remember spending my summers in South Bend, Indiana and my dad & his wife would make me answer the phone like that
