It is a double standard, but you shouldn't be with anyone you don't trust anyway. A relationship is built on trust and understanding, if you don't have it then you'll never have a healthy relationship. This is why there's so many dysfunctional relationships, because things like that quote have been normalized.

Yup. Women are always afraid of everything all the time, no exceptions. She will spend 15 years being fearful of infidelity, and then when it finally happens 15 years in, she will exclaim that her women's intuition was obviously correct.
It'd be like if your smoke detector was constantly ringing, and then one day you burn some popcorn and exclaim, "See, it works great!"
