but...to answer your other question about living hip hop....i was just at a very underground hip hop show monday night with paul rosenberg and juan epstein and hung out with up and coming rapper shawn chystopher. i love hip hop....my parents were tastemakers in the early days of NY Hip Hop culture. Big Daddy Kane and Queen Latifah, whom my parents were good friends with came to parties that my parents threw in our backyard. Hip hop is so much apart of who I am and how I came up it's apart of my identity....and once you understand that hip hop is about telling your true story as it is, then the ideology of it being synonymous with being in the streets is an antiquated notion.

i'm still not sure what this thread is about

i mean concerts are expensive, do i have money for them? sure, but i'll mostly go with a friend to see acts like the geto boys, or bone thugs n harmony (all reunited :ahh:), or i saw the pharcyde do all of bizarre ride II from start to finish. or kendrick lamar when he came to the college. i think we had not too many but i saw some acts while i was at college

most of my friends growing up all listen to hip hop, lot of my college friends don't or arent into it as heavy. so yeah posting is easier now tho when i'm working more but there are times where the booth can just be grating to read and thats been more recent as opposed to last year

i still dont really fukk with wacky d threads:manny:

So in a genre in which a majority of the artist either lie, exaggerate, and/or embellish you're surprised that their fans online arent the same?

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
ima producer so i deal with rappers regularly. shoot the shyt with mcs in all 5 boroughs and jersey. Most if not all rappers are clowns; every now and then you find one or two that are believable. one thing i do know, never have i been able to come to almost a unanimous decision agreeing on anything hip hop yet im told that im trying too hard to be different for not liking kendrick who is stanned to the moon n back here.

there are different reasons why i dont likea rapper that goes farther than their music because of dealing with so many mcs. i can read their personalities right away from hearing them spit. this is why even though i feel kendrick is a moderately skilled mc, i am not going to give him anymore burn. dudes who change their voice in the booth and always braggin on some stupid shyt are usually disillusioned fakkits. the only difference between them and lamar is a record deal.

walking thru a hood near you with my mp and laptop in my backpack. street certified dun dun

Hip-Hop Since '79
Yeah, I used to be.

I was a young nikka in need of money, and I used to transport drugs for my cuz from time to time.

At any given time, I would have an 8 ball on me, drivin into a run down hood and some random nikka hoppin in the car and we make the transaction.

shyt, I would be at school, and the payphone would ring and he would be like "ay, where that shyt at?"

I guarded the work at the crib in my room and he let me hold a pistol and told me, if nikkaz run up in here, burn em.
