started with history(wanted to become a history teacher or gym teacher) butttttttttt i had a political science class with an amazing prof and switched to Political Science after my first semester. Which has been a great choice cuz in my first semester I had 2 C+'s and a A- in my history classes with An A- with my political science and another. I probably would have been doing worse if I stayed with a history major.
graduating this semester(final exam of my BA today :ahh: its an elective and i just gotta work harder to get a A+)
grad school still on my mind, but as of now more leaning towards joining law enforcement(cop) might do grad school after and try this lawyer shyt or something else
only owe 12-13k for that BA :ahh: gotta love that cheap tuition(quebec), and I already saved 2k set aside to pay back and ill be working more this summer with no vacation so about half or near half of my paychecks going towards repaying it back before i get hit with interest(6month grace period)
but if i was living in the US? university? :mjlol: nikka i woulda joined the army or went straight to law enforcement right after high school i ain't getting my ass in that 40k+ debt nikka :camby:
So yeah nikka make sure you pick what you think its right take some classes to see the major that would appeal the most to you. Especially for yall crazy ass tuition per semester nikkas

that's what people keep telling me. i guess i just had a stigma about community college but i think i'm going to swallow my pride, and try to get a motherfukking scholarship out of one of those bytches. i am too broke for the bullshyt.

:russ: and :merchant: at the same time. that's fukked up. why you say that, breh?

Community aint bad breh and its not like anyone will know or remember, cause your degree will show you graduated from a university not a small time campus

Remember it aint where ya from, its where ya at

:king:

what do you plan on doing with an entertainment engineering degree? it doesnt sound like a real popular degree. which can actually be a good thing cause its not saturated. i would think you would wanna get a real engineering degree though, like electrical engineer.

If your still indecisive, knock out your general studies first - that way you flex to a different degree plan if needed and it won't/shoudln't impact your current degree plan.

well, my city is well known for entertainment and i plan on being an entertainer for the rest of my life (even if it's just a hobby :manny:) so I would want to be involved in producing events. I like performing but I'm now interested venue design and the technology it takes to put on a show as well.

well i want to be an entrepreneur and an entertainer no matter what. it's not that i'm unsure of what i want to do, it's more about getting the most bang for my buck. i want a degree that's going to be the most helpful. i'm not really in school to find myself. I'm a 26 year old freshman. i have a clear but flexible vision of where i'm going.

This is my first semester and I'm kinda :ehh:. my grades aren't the best but i am definitely back in the groove of trying to make the most of my education after a few years off. I wanted to be a bidness major because i have multiple talents/eccentric interests and i wanted to better versed in how to make the most of them financially. I took a personality test to see what direction i want to go with my career so i don't get out of school like :lupe: 'what do i do now?'

all that aside, i'm contemplating switching to entertainment engineering. i'm looking into it now but i was wondering is that shyt hard and is it worth it? i still want to be an entrepreneur but i feel like it might be good to specialize in something as well. any opinions on this would be appreciated.

has anybody switched majors and how has that worked out for you?

You gave me advice, so I'm glad to throw it back.

I went to college in 2003 and in 2005 I took 4 years off. I wanted to be a business major as well, but I just couldn't get through calculus, which oddly was a requirement to get in.

I honestly feel like even though I don't have experience in that field, it sounds like it's more of an actual skill set, which is incredibly important. Not trying to downplay business majors, but they're a dime a dozen. fukk, I switched from business to philosophy, and when I graduated, the skills I learned of HOW to think have helped me way more than anything else. The job I have now is in web design and marketing, and my boss was a college dropout and didn't even ask what my major was.

Don't over stress the major. I know it seems like a big deal, and you don't want to pick something stupid for the hell of it, like art history. For the most part, if you have good social skills, are a hard worker, good at networking, and can do good in a job interview, you can sell people on just about any major. People think philosophy is a dogshyt major, but I've been able to really sell people on why it's so helpful.

Especially if you wanna be an entrepreneur...you can sell yourself easily brother.

Switching majors was the best thing I ever did.

That's not practical. We will still need teachers, nurses, mental health professionals, accountants, etc. all of which require a degree.

Yeah don't get it twisted - degrees will out weight cert's any day of the week. Certs are for technical positions, degrees are for management/leadership positions.

You can dump a cert - you can't dump a degree (excluding diplmoa mills)

I only paid 12k to less than 13k for 4 years for my bachelor.
and if i want to do my masters its going to cost me about 8-9k more only
I know the tuition is crazy in the US.
Unless your parents are paying...

Yeah, it's an insane investment. You'd think that many places would lower tuition considering how many people rely on taxpayers for loans but it's quite the opposite, at least at the school I attend. On top of that, a lot of people are enrolling in hopes of a certain salary instead of benefiting society. Education is the furthest thing from many people's minds.

If you're a freshman that's an even bigger reason to go for it, because if it doesn't work, you can just switch again. Use your freshman year to take a shyt load of classes and find out what you enjoy.

Thanks, breh. I have a few more days before I can register for classes so I'm going to reassess my game plan right this weekend.
