I am growing thai bird peppers and ginger. You can grow both of them in small spaces they just need a lot of sun. Peppers need more sun than the ginger though. Peppers also need the summer heat. They really drink water like crazy. Depending on where you live it may be too late to start them though. If you want you can look on how to grow weed indoors and instead grow peppers, they grow the same. You can leave ginger out by a sunny window and it should do fine, just be sure to read up on how to take care of it so it doesn't get hit with bugs like mine did over the winter. The leaves smell so great!

Thanks il do some research

We grubbin yet brehs?? Whats good with yalls crops? Out here in DC we had almost a month long drought that stunted all my shorties and are sending some to seed, herbs and calalloo. I'm a lil bit sad about that but its also about time to start planting more kale and brocolli for the winter. I finally got a female flower on my butternut squash so we officially outchea!!!
My little pepper is coming along not ready just yet. Will post a picture of it.

it’s like 5 different types of grass plus weeds in my yard, the front got all bald spots, what’s a good grass for dogs in the Midwest?
hmmm. u gotta look at ur lawn differently. The weeds show u what nutrients are missing in the soil. The bald spots are from compaction. U gotta grow stuff with long taproots to break the soil up and keep it broken up. Otherwise ur food companies like TruGreen. Check ur local ag universities lawn care/turf management for more references about what I'm saying. Dandelions Dogs are tough on lawns, especially the bigger they get because their piss is so so so strong. The amount they need to run and their digging habits prevents soil from being established and it stays "dirt."

If u want to build soils for growing a lawn then thats a lil different. I understand having a lawn esp if u have an HOA or something but u should just pay more attention to peoples lawns in your area and also what grows wild and take pictures and see what aligns. U just gotta work with Mama and she will provide.

If you want to build soil for growing crops in your backyard id recommened starting with a raised bed over the most compacted/bald soil u have in your backyard to prevent ur dog from getting innit. then u can buy bagged soil and put it right on top and put ur crops in it and periodically weed when u observe everybody.

lemme know what u thinking

always have herbs (basil, thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary, parsley). they are easy to grow and it will save you tons of money as buying herbs in the supermarket is crazy expensive when you really think about it. they are very low maintenance as well and you can bring them in during the winter if necessary (although some herbs are hardy and will grown back in spring)

tomatoes are obviously a favorite, as are peppers...they're both pretty resilient and low maintenance

important tips:

1. learn how to prune your plants....essentially that means getting rid of some stems/leaves once your plant has started blooming/flowering. this is important as it will make the growth more manageable and more of the plants energy will go to growing the edible portion of the plant, rather than unnecessary leaves etc.

2. make sure your plant has enough space to grow

3. fertilize/feed your plant - very important as a deficiency in certain minerals etc can ruin all the work you've done

4. insect maintenance - most insects can be kept away if you spray your plant with a weak mixture of dish soap and water

5. understand how much water your plant needs - over watering is just as bad as not watering enough
