Gotta shop around even if you find a good one.

1st time I took my son to get a cut it was quiet, dude just cut his hair and he was out in 20 mins, next time I went it was loud, this man arguing with another barber about bullshyt, a dude in the seat across from us breaking down and rolling up in his barber chair, music BLASTING so loud that everyone had to shout, a fight damn near broke out and then mid way through the cut the barber starts telling me about his wife kicking him out and how he didn't have a close relationship with his father.......:francis:

I remember nikkas on this site would try to clown you for paying $50 for a cut

You’re paying for the service and if it’s expensive, more than likely you’re not dealing with dumb shyt
Man that's never been cool to me even when I was broke. Folks openly shaming you for how much money you put into the hands of a black professional and then going out their way to take money out that man's pockets by trying to recommend someone they perceive to have equivalent service yet at a lower cost. Some clown ass shyt. I empathize with the barbers and understand why they play a lot of these folks to the left and be on their own time when dealing with folks.

Sounds like my old barber in buckhead off north ave. shyt was sweet until he found out I let his cousin cut my hair in a pinch once. nikka acted like I had an affair & started acting like a lil beach.

I came late for my appointment once after that… then this dude got on his high value man shyt & told me to respect his time n shyt.

Like dude, it was 7 minutes. Calm yo big elbow ass down. :what:

So when I tried to book again, he canceled it with a comment saying “I don’t need the money.”.

I sent dude the 🖕🏽 Emoji and told him his cousin’s hands are way more gifted.

He threatened me & I blocked him. lol
:russ: Got damn. Barbers do get tight about that type of shyt. Fortunately, I don’t get that close with my barber. I book on his app, pull up, watch whatever he got on TV while I get my cut and I’m out within an hour. Exactly how I like it :blessed:

Why don't ya'll just learn to cut your own hair, or grow it out? spending 100 dollars a month on fades :dahell:

In grad school ain't got time to attend barbershop school. I did have the whole Iverson braids/ Fro for 4 yrs while in undergrad at my HBCU. I would get a new style often I had my girl at the time braid my hair. Back in my braid days my hair was always washed and scalped oiled.

I chose to attend a PWI for grad school cause a diploma from here and the course work rings bells. So crossing over I'm back with a low Caesar simple goatee.

Barbershops have always been trash
Yall just value your time more now so you're realizing how full of bullshyt and unprofessional they are
Not all barbershops are the same, there have been two barbershops i have frequented in my life that was a chill spot and had good service one in Nola one in Marietta, when i was in chiropractic school I’d set my Friday up to go drink talk shyt eat and get a cut, that shyt kept me going especially on rough weeks, down here in Nola, the shop is a perfect spot during Mardi Gras and they kept brews on deck and was a cool spot to shoot the breeze, but usually after my cut i was gone

Naw can't agree with that. You have to find someone like You who values their time. Hell even when I was down bottom I would get a line up and my side burns and beard done.

I found a old skool breh I paid him a bit more . I also came in early and never smelled like reeffa as he called . Being back up North for grad school I found a black owned multicultural barbershop. It takes me an hour to get there but I have standing appointment which makes it worth it.
