Well yea 50 straight pullups you have to be in great shape,but you also have to have some strength as well

TO me great shape is incredible strength combined with muscle endurance

i do weighted pull ups and i still have trouble making it to 35 sometimes (no weight)

As of 2014 more than half of the women in marine bootcamp can't do 3 pull-ups.

So they simply cut the requirement.
And also, a court ruled it was discriminatory that women have to display that they can carry thier body weight to become a firefighter.

So if your house is burning down and you live somewhere progressive, good luck.
Cause your firefighter might be a chick who can't lift or carry you.
