Common recruiting scam. During the interview process before signing any actual paperwork they'll ask for your social and bank/routing in order to set up direct deposit. That or they'll send packages to your house and ask you to ship them other places.

A successful interview includes demonstrating you have knowledge of the business, it's goals, and how you can add value.

If someone tells you they are withholding pertinent information where they won't even tell you the name of the business and what they are about until a second round interview....
..

They think you are stupid and you are exactly the type of sheep they need to pull of their scam.

Don’t be so flippant about it. If you see someone falling for sh1t like this, warn them…if you can.

I think you misinterpreted. And you're also misinformed. They will be made aware of what they're going to be doing once they're screened during the " background check" and will have to make a choice to participate. Its not falling for anything. This is a "job" offer.

Actually, you’re the one who’s misinformed. You assume the people who organize these type of scam jobs are scrupulous individuals. That alone derails your logic.

Any organization which is inherently corrupt, won’t all of a sudden grow a conscience and explain the risks to those desperate enough to even contemplate showing up.

It’s like these drug mules who get caught weekly on National Geographic. They were convinced by the organizers that several officials at the airport they’re flying into have been paid off. So it’s not a big deal to carry kilos of cocaine. As long as it’s carefully hidden. They say.

Again. Do not be flippant.
