I used an example to expound on the level of insouciance.

Africans did call us “slave baby” and this was when Jamaicans were Pan-Africanist.

It’s a non-issue today and you’d be hard-pressed to find one of us who cares enough to cry about it.

Any beef now is over brehs being broke and forced to deal with each other.

:comeon: What’s with both Africans and west indians constantly playing victim on this topic.

As someone who has both Caribbean and African heritage, I can definitely say the ignorance was both ways. It happened in my own fam.

Africans thinking they were better than west indians because of not having slave heritage and west indians also thinking they were better because they were more “civilised” and not bush like Africans.

Are Nigerians the the scape goat of Africa ? I notice in these threads a lot of the other Africans are like :hubie: that's Nigerians not us .

But they have the largest population of African Immigrants so that's most people's first and most frequent interactions with Africans

Same with brehs in America. Everyone throws darts at each other then says the other side started it. Stupid game.

They are not thrown under the bus they just gotta carry the rep for their actions.

Nigerians are also smart, resourceful and highly educated amongst brehs but when they floss that people catch feelings. I don't view them any particular one way. I got some good Nigerian friends but I also currently have a nightmare neighbor from Nigeria. People are people.

I spoke about this very topic on here last week.

fukkery went both ways and then we dropped the Pan-Africanist thing and separated ourselves.

Unless we are placed in the same place via housing, schooling or employment we barely mix with each other so any “beef” now is intra-classism not intra-cultural.

These brehs are from the same blocks beefing over limited resources.

:beli: Breh stop capping for the coli. The average West Indian in the uk weren’t no damn Pam Africanist :dead:. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Most Africans aren’t even pan Africans lol.

Most black Africans and West Indians are placed in the same environments in the uk. That’s why they mix more here than in the US for example.

Cap for what?

I have no desire to impress you.

There was a Pan-Africanist movement in the 70s, 80s and early 90s which was reflected in the media and West Indians were deep in it, selling Nelson Mandela earrings and shyt.

I’m from Brixton; I know what I grew up seeing.

Africans made their feelings clear about us and we dipped.

The only people crying about the other side are those who don’t have the means to change their environment.

No one else cares.

it hurts my heart i didnt watch the video, but some stuff in here spoken on is potent.

there are more marriages between black african and whites, black caribbeans and whites than african and caribbeans

this shyt is like hyena versus lions, eternal beef.

most africans excel to judges, lawyers, doctors in the uk ... but most caribbeans especially Jamaicans tap out at mechanic and barber. so the hate is pure and they miseducate their offspring's to look down on africans.

we can go deeper but things have gotten better since from the late 80s and early 90s ... thank a bit of hiphop for that it bought peoples within the black family as one.

the eastern africans are getting the worst of the stick, but things are getting better.

What's funny were the same fukking prople:mjlol:

And I'm gonna let you in on a historical secret too.

MOST of our grandparents worked for TFL (transportation)
My grandad did. I was told when the Nigerians, Jamaicans and Bajans came to work they all stuck together because they were from English speaking countries and they experienced severe racism.

When the English supervisors saw them sticking together they created division out of fear of the migrants starting up a Trade Union of sorts.

Literally a man that worked there same time as my grandad told me on his lunch break an English boy would come up to him and say "You Mike your a good worker not like those lazy nigerians"

Then he said the nigerian man would get told that "Mike and the Jamaicans steal supplies"
:martin:
Until they started disliking thier co workers instead of the Supervisors scamming their wages.

Just like I see with this thread

Lol and I could tell you stories of what some of my African family members experienced from West Indians when they got here. Many Africans could easily say West Indians didn’t accept them either breh. It went both ways breh. You’re trying to spin it like one side rejected the other causing a rift:comeon:

I have both in me so I never cared for this African v Caribbean shyt.

But you sound kinda emotional about it so I’ll let u cook :hubie:
