It's a fact that many black people dropped the NFL for what they did to Kaepernick. Not sure where you gathered that black folks didn't care. :patrice:

Just from being around Black folks, invited to multiple SB parties, etc.. The sports related conversations I've had this year with folks was not any different in scope than in previous years. Maybe there was a sizable "woke" crowd that took issue, but I don't think the far majority really stopped watching the NFL.

edit post: matter fact the more I think about it, more Black folks I know were upset at Mahomes not making it to the SB than anything related to Kaepernick or the halftime show.

Interesting. Couple questions though. For one, why did the NFL blink on this one? The momentum seemed to be on the NFL's side as far as public opinion was concerned. I don't think the general public including a lot of Black folks really cared that much about the whole ordeal. Which leads to another question, did Kaepernick have anything in the form of a smoking gun? I'm thinking he didn't considering he settled rather than go to court. I mean it was pretty obvious a lot of owners and GMs were on the same page when it came to Kaepernick, but that in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean collusion.

Having a hard time imagining what was deemed sufficiently fair to both parties considering everything that lead up to this point. This whole thing ended in a very lackluster manner considering all the controversy.

Usually when a settlement happens, that person has a solid case and the accused don't wanna take it to court :whoa:

Damn. No offense, but it could be the crowd I roll with. I don't hang around any black people who'd still watch the NFL. Those are the type of c00ns who can't be saved. You need to cut them off, breh.

Cacs all in the comments all over Twitter and Instagram “but I thought it wasn’t about the money”

If the NFL didn’t do shyt wrong then it wouldn’t have been a check cut and they wasn’t about to go court and risk their secrets getting out. Salute to Kaep.
And Kaep has already donated millions.

these types of things are based on numbers rather than hopes. it can be argued that he wasn't even a pro-bowl player, no championships, injured shoulder, coming off the bench, etc.... doesnt exactly support highest paid player numbers. and on top of that, he doesn't have to break the sweat of the highest paid player lol
lawsuits are a facts based numbers game :yeshrug:

good for him if he felt comfortable to settle the matter.

Breh pressured the strongest League in the world, barring FIFA, & forced them to accept culpability in the form of a settlement.

Actual judges, no disrespect to the Honorable members of Breh, Brah, & Bruh Coli Legal Analytics Inc. , took a look at the case and agreed it had enough merit to move forward to an actual case. This would have been a possibly fatal strike to the NFL, having to divulge not just their own records but communications between all the owners?

Billionaires have a terrible track record once you get to peek behind the curtain, why you think President Trump still got the Kung Fu Deathgrip on his returns? Kaep not only shone a light on the hypocrisy but prospered as a result with endorsement deals & magazine covers. This is not what the League want current or future players to see on top of everything else.

Anyone trying to spin or downplay this as anything other than a W is suspect AF, period.

not necessarily
Agreed. I think the NFL is more interested in removing this whole chapter from NFL history and expunging this mans name (bulldozing murals etc). The power of the NIKE add gave them pause.
:dame:
NFL revenue is $8 billion/year, $80 million is 1% essentially nothing compared to continuing loss of credibility. Jmo
