This is some Atlanta High Schools stuff? This is a great event though.

Not just Atlanta it’s the annual opening weekend “classic” across the state putting the top teams against each other no matter the region & division. It used to be 1 or 2 games at the dome but they expanded it to multiple teams across the state at their home stadiums.

Corky Kell Classic been going on since 92 & it’s a good chance to see the top teams play each other outside the playoffs

I think GA has a lot of the best teams and most talented high schools in the nation. Lots of talent from GA really stand out. Especially in college after that one year period of development and training.

With that said when other states travel to play GA teams those referees don’t call games fair at all. This is even when you go to the University of Georgia 7 on 7 during the summer. Kirby pretty much told the refs before the games this is Georgia make sure you put our high schools over. I think I have the video of this.

The thing I love bout our schools the most is it’s all public schools that run shyt..no goofy ass academy or day school was on that list for GA besides Rabun Gap but they’re deep in the mountains & I doubt it’s many brehs on that team.

North GA mountain cities are sundown towns that’s the 1 part of the state that’s all white folk

Is there a part of SC where the best teams are centrally located like Gwinnett County in GA?

Not really anymore. If I had to say I’d say Spartanburg County (add Gaffney) or Rock Hill (York County) they put a lot of kids in D1 and the league… the thing is as far as the big A schools there has been a problem called Dutch Fork in this state for the last few years.

Dutch Fork had one somewhat down season in 2023 and they started the season with Colquitt in GA of all years and got that ass whooped.

Same year Spartanburg took Grayson to the wire. QB got injured late and Grayson INT’d back up to win.

they teach..anyone from the outside can be assistants though. But 99% of the coaching staff will be working at the school as PE or health coaches to get as much training in. Peter Warrick was working at the same school I was as a health or weight training teacher (forgot which one). They said that nikka left whenever he wanted to & was really only there during practice & game time :mjlol:

Every high school I’ve worked at, the whole coaching staff also taught.

I may be wrong, but when Rush Propst was coaching in south GA, he just came in as a coach. South GA do shyt different than metro Atlanta.
