Colo. woman who cut baby from womb of stranger gets 100 years

A baby-obsessed Colorado woman who cut a fetus from the womb of a complete stranger was sentenced Friday to 100 years in prison for the sickening crime.
Dynel Lane, 36, will likely die behind bars for the March 2015 attack on Michelle Wilkins, who was nearly eight months pregnant at the time.
The unborn baby girl died but Wilkins miraculously survived — and was in the courtroom as the judge handed down the stiff sentence.
"You lost your privilege in our society," an emotional Wilkins, beside a photograph of the dead baby she named Aurora, told her attacker in court, according to KUSA-TV.

Lane, found guilty in February, declined to speak at the sentencing, despite Judge Maria Berkenkotter urging her to speak.
"People are hungry to hear from you, Miss Lane," she said. "Hungry, desperate to hear you express genuine remorse from the bottom of your heart."
It was up to Lane's friends and family members to address the court, describing the "terrible crushing pain for them to deal with."

Michelle Wilkins was attacked in March 2015 and left to die.
"It's as if her mind shattered for a day," Lane's mother said of her deranged daughter, KUSA reported. "We couldn't believe Dynel could do something like this."
Lane lured Wilkins to her home with a Craigslist ad promising free maternity clothes. The two chatted for some time before Lane attacked, pushing and choking her, then using two kitchen knives to butcher the mom-to-be.
Lane's boyfriend, David Ridley, came home early and found a distraught Lane and the fetus in the bathtub. He rushed them both to the hospital. Meanwhile, a bleeding Wilkins eventually regained consciousness and called 911.
