How are more teen births better?
Teen pregnancy rates are already declining do to many factors, what I'm saying is that IMO, the cost of accelerating the decline(marginalizing parents) outweighs the benefit.
I'm not saying "more teen births are good".
Sure, and I have no doubt that the intentions of the program are good, and from what I can find the results of it appear to be good as well. What I'm looking at is the cost.
Societies don't operate as businesses and some things must be accommodated for in the long run.
Unwanted kids cost society more than family planning.
Period.
This could be swung the other way.... and by winning, I mean rates are declining absolutely. What we are 'discussing' is the rate of that decline, not whether or not we should have more teen pregnancy.
...and I am stating that IMO the cost of accelerating that decline is too high.

Sure you are. You are putting "keeping parents in the loop" at a higher priority than reducing teen births. What do you think is worse for the parent/teen/baby.... parents "getting in the loop" by finding out their kid is/got somebody pregnant, or parents "staying in the dark" on their kids having sex, just as they are for a large majority of things in their teenager's lives?

Parents in the loop lol. Yeah you will have a few kids that are comfortable enough to discuss sex work their parents but for the most part it's keep your parents out of the loop and use the pull out method or keep your parents out of the loop but be responsible about sex. Either way kids are going to have sex. I don't see why this is even an argument, just another case of religion holding back America.
