Fresh is my favorite too. Incredibly smart film not just a ghetto flick

Colors is awful in retrospect. The dialog between gangmembers is downright hilarious, especially the mexican bangers.

mixed gangs where the black nikkas talk like cholos. :russ:

Actually, I believe the gangs in L.A. back then were sort of mixed.

Of course, most black kids joined the Crips or Bloods but it wasn't uncommon to see blacks in a latino gang or a latino in a Crip or Blood gang.

Nah Clockers is the most underrated. Fresh is the best

Colors was cool for it's time, but it was way more about the police than anything. Punk ass Sean Penn

I always looked at Clockers as the film equivalent to Illmatic, Ready to Die and the Infamous, such a great film. It's the era it's shot in plays off of as well. Perfect time capsule flick of 90's NYC.

Fresh tho :dwillhuh::wow::mjcry: that basketball court scene gets me all the time.

It aint mentioned cause its corny. They didnt have anyone really tied to the streets involved with the writing of the film or to tell them how nikkas really got down during them times...and it suffered because of it....I remember my older brother seeing it when it was new and he said the same thing.
thats false

them dudes is real Crips in that movie, and that jail scene also is real gang members

probably tha only movie that had real LA bloods and crips in it from a real ass era...

Yeah they definitely had real gang members in it. Of course most were actors tho. But T Rodgers was in it.

But Mario Lopez/AC Slater was in it too :francis:
