I mean, both things can be true. Goff was so limited with the Rams that they built their offense around getting to the line ASAP, not to run as many plays as possible, but so McVay could literally read the defense for Goff, and tell him what to do. Not only did that stunt his growth as a QB, but absolutely no black QB gets a second contract the size of Goff's if they're even in the league at that point. And he definitely got caught up in what was basically a business decision for both sides of the trade. The Rams upgraded at QB, and the Lions got younger while they were in a spot that wouldn't have gotten them Lawrence, Wilson, or Lance in the draft.
I think majority if not all the qbs are limited, why keep overpaying qbs,
We saw what happened to Goff and wentz

If Jared Goff was black he'd be out of the league, but he's a prime example of someone with all the tools and despite that still struggles to stay consistent because of how fukking hard it is to be a QB

Geno Smith makes me want to disagree but I get your point in the totality of the league. I think they're both similar, and both having revivals in better situations. Both have weapons and a run game now.

I'm a Lions fan and Goff has impressed me. But I think the big issue for him here is he's got the GM who banged the table to draft him back in LA, and that GM has also gone out his way to re-create everything Goff had in LA when he was good (elite o-line and run game, heavy YAC receivers, good TEs, deep threat WR, etc). Where I'll agree with you is that you rarely see that type of commitment to a black QB. Geno is a perfect example of a guy who had obvious talent but no one cared to cater a system to his needs until he went to Seattle. There are some black QBs who I won't vouch for and understand why they're done. A team would be an idiot to bring in Jameis as QB1 for instance. But as a backup for the Saints, it makes sense for him to be there. He's smart and is a locker room guy.

I also notice people dismiss Geno and Goff the exact same way. "Oh he sucks now." Heard that all year despite both lighting it up. People made up their minds 3-4 years ago.

A qb really just needs to protect the ball and make timely passes, the problem is the league is set up for qbs to be Superman which gives an out for bad organizations and who can’t build a team
While the actual Superman on the team aka the rb typically Carries a squad throughout the season, qbs depend on way too many elements to have the value they have

To keep it real most of the money should be going to linemen and rbs, but the environment is set up for qbs to throw 50 passes a game to justify big ass contracts compared to the rest of the team, qbs contracts don’t match the real production they bring to the team

Really the model should be that qbs get long baseball contracts at reasonable yearly rates, while rbs and linebackers get bigger shorter contracts, im not sure what pay models other positions should have
I've always said the truly great QBs are worth every penny. But for a lot of these average ass QBs I'd go the route you said. I'd spend all my money on the line and on a stud RB who can make things much easier and make the average QB look better than they are. The problem is that you'd eventually lose that average QB come contract time because some other GM won't factor in the players around that QB and throw a huge contract at them.

Their kicker got a $23 million dollar 4 year deal, they paying their kicker more than the superstar running back.

This is the NFL where the average salary for a Kicker is higher than the average salary for an RB.
It's fukked up, but posts like yours are trying to make an NFL issue a Colts issue.

That ain't a far comparison either considering the number of minimum salary RBs on rosters bringing the average down. Compare starting RBs versus K for a more apples to apples comparison.

The original comparison wasn't fair either, considering JT is on a rookie deal and Matt Gay is on his second contract. There are multiple teams in the NFL, (including KC I believe) with a young RB on a rookie deal making less than a kicker.

Compare JT's eventual second contract to Matt Gay's.

0% chance Indy offers (or would've offered) JT less than what Gay is making. The only difference is Gay was a FA this year, JT isn't one until next. Not like they extended the kicker early.

And now look at the rams, rebuilding cause they spent all they capital trying to build a stacked team through trades when they really just needed a rb
They could’ve won multiple super bowls with a great rb
Jonathan is that you?

Theres 3-4 running backs per team and there’s 1 kicker per team, the back up running backs making minimum salary that never play a snap bring the average down. Try starting RB salary vs Starting kickers.

talk about click bait :russ:

Then they put Saquon up there like he's making 1.8M.

They should have put Elijah Mitchell or some shyt, to make it atleast appear accurate.
