The east coast had some of the worst, shytty, generic production in the late 90's and early 00's. The only thing that was worse.. was the underground west coast artist who tried to imitate... They didnt realize it was a bunch of east coast producers trying to imitate other regions with their own keyboard esque beats...

Rocwilder (even tho I'ma fan of his because has decent beats), Swizz Beats, Dame Grease, Neptunes........ were the ones that generic producers were trying to imitate... You had songs like this POS...

i never got the appeal...i probably couldn't even name 5 neptunes beats that i really fukk with. outside of the clipse, the only one i can remember is fam'lay-rock n roll.(and i'm just assuming they did that one)

I actually do like good Neptunes stuff. But they're mad tied to that era. and they were pimpin' themselves. can't fault them seeing as how lucrative the industry was when they hit. but yeah, they 50/50 to me.
