how is it a memory and not a song? memories dont last a lifetime necessarily
songs don't go away after your life ends. We know nothing about what happens to a persons memory. plus does a song do the rest of those things?

Few memories last a complete life time, assuming you live to a very old age...and many go away even if you live a short life.
And yea, a song does. It brings back the dead in a realer way than a memory does (by a deceased artist), they make people cry and laugh, can make people feel young again after hearing a song from earlier in their life, can be created relatively fast (and, at the very least, is "born in an instant" if you look at it from the perspective of a person listening to it for the first time), and it lasts a life time.
You said yourself that songs don't go away after your life ends...since when does that mean it doesn't last your life time, if it lasts your life time and beyond it?
