No, not really. It's harsh but it helps create an environment where drugs won't have that much of influence within the school.

Also it may create a environment where kids who want to get something outta their time in school can flourish and be encouraged.

So I work at a high school and we're literally expelling kids every week. The principal has a zero tolerance and so this ngga goes to the extreme. Calls the police if you're caught with it and presses charges because it's federal crime to have drugs in the school. I personally don't get how they don't know that they smell like weed. But if you gotta get high in the morning before school, wouldn't it make more sense to get edibles? It's just crazy seeing kids every week (and I'm not exaggerating) throwing their lives away. And I'm sure a large part is because it's legal in Michigan (i'm not against legalizing weed though).

When I worked for an alternative school I did the truancy thing going to houses and bringing kids Into school. Some days there wouldn’t be a need for it and I would just chill and make sure no one was beefing or arguing. But unless they were acting crazy or had a blunt In their ear. We were instructed to ignore it. And they would bring it up to the parents. But the cops were never called for weed. If you did get caught you just got suspended. You must be working for that principal on the breakfast club or Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

It’s because they don’t know how to get the smell off. Tell the kids after they smoke to wash their hands, brush their teeth and wear cologne. Believe it or not the smell of weed doesn’t stick to clothing. It’s usually their hands or mouth that reeks of weed.
