Life After Death is a boring ass album, and honestly is a huge stepback for Biggie

should have stayed with the sporadic wacky attitude he had on RTD with songs like Gimmie The Loot, Warning instead of trying play it cool on LAD.

"Nasty Boy" has gotta be Biggie's WOAT song in his catalog, along with that Lil Kim joint on there being straight :trash: to

Infact "Going back to cali" is pretty avg as a track, which really shows when he tried to get into a west coast vibe it didnt really work

which is why i always find the "biggie was the most versatile MC and can do whatever" remarks by his fans funny because there is clearly things hes limited to

Look at the "Notoroious thugs" dudes saying he rapped like Bone, LOL? where all he did was speed up his tempo/pace of his flow from 1.0 speed to 1.5:mjlol:

his rapping did not sound like Bone, it just sounds like a faster paced Biggie. LOL

I'll start. :yeshrug:Never got they hype around A Tribe Called Quest, Maybe i just missed out on them, but they was just OK to me. Hell Outkast mopped the floor with them if that's a close comparison.

Saigon should have had next after 50 cent dude dropped the ball something awful.

Styles P is the best member of the Lox, I don't care how great Jadakiss voice is.

Scarface was a better Tupac than Tupac.

FIGHT ME!

Saw the bold, blanked out and the rest of the post don’t even exist after that.

Both you and ya momma can go to hell:unimpressed:

Aight -

“Doo Wop (That Thing)” is one of the greatest records/raps of all-time. Of ALL TIME.

The rest of that album? Get the fucc outta my face.

The Score? Get the fucc outta my face.

Wyclef by himself made better albums/music on his own than the other folks in Refugee Camp,
and I will fight anybody on that hill (no pun intended).

So listen right....Both Biggie and Nas are my GOATs and are in my Top 5; however I really think everybody and they mama stay having the same generic ass Top 5 list (2Pac, BIG, Nas, Jay-Z, and Eminem/Lil Wayne/3 Stacks/Kendrick/Cole/Drake) just to play it safe and go with the crowd.

4.) Classic late 80's Hip Hop is mostly just rappers rapping about rapping without a real message. Most Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and DOC is just rapping about ripping mics and stages. The only Rakim songs that had an actual message from back in the day were "Paid in Full" and "The Ghetto". Lyrical rap for the sake of being lyrical didn't last long for that reason and was overshadowed by the rise of Cali Gangsta shyt.

...aaaand this is exactly why KRS-One is a GOAT, for all the ones in here saying otherwise.

He was actually saying something, and it was (1) real, and (2) hardcore.
You had him, Chuck D, and Cube. Everybody else was (as Melle Mel said recently)
“writing rhymes about writing rhymes”.

The fugees were a HUGE disappointment for me.

Nappy heads was my shyt and a hell of a debut

But they never made another song as good as that despite all the huge hits they had after.

Side note, I wonder what the hell Pras is doing these days. Bruh had a bachelor's degree from Yale before he went into this rap shyt.

Yeah....right.

"Elevator music"??

What's funny is I respect classic jazz, but I can't listen to it purposefully usually.....but add hip hop + jazz sound, which is the Tribe sound and I'm:krs:

Trap sound has warped what music is supposed to sound like..........

"Trap" music is literally a TRAP and keeps people's music taste stagnated. We been listening to the same beats since 2009, and these mumble rappers owe everything to autotune. The abuse of autotune ruined black music as a whole.

Autotune is like a kid learning to ride the bike with training wheels, and the training wheels never come off. Basically, it stunts growth of voices and artist development.

2002>>>>1994

2002 was the last year the East Coast ran shyt, and it was the end of an era when Nas dropped "God's Son" in December 2002, the intro "Get Down" he said that the South where the hustlers were at, he was telling legit prophecy. 6 months later, the South blew up and the influence was there ever since. But at the same time, the quality of music and album making, went down the drain.
