Incredible album. I remember buying this album with BG’s Heart Of The Streetz Vol 1 and Memphis Bleek’s 534 (it came out the week before). 534 was horrible and I always thought I should’ve bought the Young Gunz ‘Brother From Another’ instead

I’m sure hip hop forums like AHH and SOHH influenced the decision to have live Version of The Food on the album. First time it was heard was the live one. then the studio version leaked and everyone was saying it lacked the oomph of the live version. Next thing you know, final version of album was live one

Surprised no mention of Resurrection here. Still my favourite Common album but this album still possibly a top 10 hip hop album of this millennium for me
