Absolute classic album. My mom and I drove to SC that summer ourselves. I fell asleep midway and she rocked out to the album herself. Woke up and she was like, "I thought about switching but it was actually pretty good."

It was the first hip hop album she's ever sat through front to back. It changed her mind on the genre.

Looks like there is another version with a song called The Movement on it. Hopefully these make the anniversary edition and not a bunch of BS dance remixes.

For fukkery’s sake, I hope it’s just 11 Chicago juke remixes of the original songs.

Incredible album. I remember buying this album with BG’s Heart Of The Streetz Vol 1 and Memphis Bleek’s 534 (it came out the week before). 534 was horrible and I always thought I should’ve bought the Young Gunz ‘Brother From Another’ instead :mjlol:

I’m sure hip hop forums like AHH and SOHH influenced the decision to have live Version of The Food on the album. First time it was heard was the live one. then the studio version leaked and everyone was saying it lacked the oomph of the live version. Next thing you know, final version of album was live one

Surprised no mention of Resurrection here. Still my favourite Common album but this album still possibly a top 10 hip hop album of this millennium for me
