I want to but just can't say that yet.. objectively speaking public enemy, jay-z, outkast, ghostface, and el-p all have equal or better catalogs than common if we only counting rappers who made more than 5 albums.. i would put him just underneath those 5 unless he releases another project of this caliber..

Kast and PE are groups

El-P nah

The other two possibly, esp. Ghost

Dare I use the c word to describe this album? :lupe:

"Hot damn, Black America Again
Think of Sandra Bland as I'm staring in the wind
The color of my skin they comparing it to sin
The darker it gets the less fairer it has been"

Such lyrical prowess is a testament to 25 years of top tier MC'in :wow:

:leon:Sounds kinda tight. He's spitting on here, but something about new Common is kinda corny. :patrice: Can't place my finger on it. I can't be the only one that feels this way.

Nah you letting that "extend a hand" shyt cloud your judgement. He's on point.

I mean I'm with the notion of oneness, I believe that as an individual so I understand what he was saying but it came off bad and I had a feeling it would influence his output or even my perception, so I fell back for a lil bit on this album.

Listening to it now, really dope shyt.

I'm surprised No I.D. Didn't produce on here, was just looking at the production credits and no he's where to be seen. But Common is rapping pretty damn good on here so it's a win anyways.
No ID did the entire last album, and that was kind of a disaster so maybe he wanted to try something different this time out.

He/the label should've really ran with some of these tracks. I like how they released the short film for Black America Again but something like this needs a whole package of videos etc.

I forgot the name, but a song off here already is very appropriately used at the end of the documentary called"the 13th" on Netflix.

Edit
The song is there last song on here called "letter to the free".

Now that this album is out it's safe to say that common have one of the greatest resumes of all time for a rapper at least top 15 if not top 10..

Com got like 3 classics and a possible, plus more than a few other very good albums, and countless dope features

Name me 9 rappers with that resume

He has to be considered top 5 by any knowledgable, unbiased Hip Hop fan at this point

No Black America Again >>> TPAB thread to piss off the stans?
Dont compare this great album to that shyt:scust:

THIS is an ACTUAL pro-black album:wow:

actually addressing issues mixed in with great production, lyrics/rapping,etc

not some album with a gremlin nikka yelling and saying "dikk aint free:pacspit:"

I've given this several plays. Solid album, love the whole theme and content. Common sounds inspired.

My standout tracks are black america again, red wine, pyramids and unfamiliar is dope af. All the bilal features fire too.

My only complaint, and i'm sorry, but Rain is terrible. Hearing John Legend over that track for so long is just horrible. shyt, i don't like the beat or Common's verse either. Throws me right off.

Other than that, this dope!
