I travel the world with a black girl named becky, grand like auto theft three :wow:

Funny Dilla once mentioned in an interview he gave Comm a shytload of tracks that were in the same vein as Soul Power with the boom bap hip-hop element to them and he turned them all down.

The '84 Babies
feel the same way ... funny tho even common doesn't like the album

I truly don't think he dislike this album. It probably it got slammed so bad he mentally feels he doesn't like it. I feel deep down he liked it but the public didn't accept so he just says he dislike it to make it look like hey it was just a phase.

Bout to listen to this for the FIRST time brehs. wish me luck :salute:

yo man, how'd it go?

This album, Tribe's Beats, Rhymes, & Life, and Q-Tip's debut solo album Amplified got demolished when they came out, but I think these three albums are kinda a group

God's Plan
i loved this album since i first heard it. i wish he still rhymed like this. i wouldnt say com ever fell off but he's been on cruise control a bit since like, finding forever. if this album came out today it wouldve fit right in and have been far better accepted. its like the definition of ahead of its time when u got people gushing over an album like tpab...listening to lwfc 1st would hav made more sense.

This shyt would sound amazing live.

Com, Jill Scott with the Roots backing.

:favre:
This album was so epic live. Never liked it until I seen Common perform it with Kareem Riggins on the drums and a band. He absolutely destroyed it. I knew that is how it was meant to be heard. It never translated well on record as it did on stage.
