I'm a Com Sense fan but Can I Borrow a Dollar is ehhhhh, I HATE Like Water for Chocolate (cept 6th Sense) and you can't even discuss Universal Mind Control or Electric Circus.

So you have Resurrection which is a good album, One Day It'll All Make Sense, Be.

I'm up in the air on Dreamer/Believer and Finding Forever. He's right about where he should be, a solid career.

This is the most reasonable analysis. It's also why Common is overrated and I started realizing why I disagree with people on this board so much. We just hear music differently and I think their hearing is sometimes impaired.

Common does not have 3 straight classics. FloorGeneral's a good poster, but I can't remotely agree with what you just said or what a lot of you guys are saying.

BTW, Be is clearly better than Finding Forever. Be didn't have any tracks with that wack hook from Lily Allen.

What was Common thinking with Universal Mind Control?

Coming off of Finding Forever I was thinking, "my dude Common is gonna come with that heat for his next album :jawalrus:"

But man that turned into :wtf:

The only Common albums that you can throw rocks at are "Circus and Mind Control". "Believer" was a little uneve but not bad at all. Everything else is about 4 MICS or Better. His catalog is solid. He's very deep and lyrical. His flow is pretty good. The only real knock is his chrisma is lacking so some fans are bored by him. Outside of that I don't see how's he's overrated. These 4 albums are strong enough to make him one of the best rappers from his region in history (Midwest):

Resurrection
Like Water For Chocolate
Be
Finding Forever

that is ressurection - classic
be - classic
one day it all make sense - classics
dreamer believer - classics

:ohlawd:

Greatness embodied in sound...............

He has fallen off....but completely wack discography, no way.......he lost his edge when he went Hollywood.....he use to go in on "deep" subject matter, now he just like Nas now and even Talib.........................sorta faux keeping it real .........more so, just trying to collect checks and no look any deeper than what they were talking about 10 years ago.......this is why I say even backpack/conscious/kufi has fallen off bad too.....
