Here's my thing though, his whole point was matchmaking against randoms is not the same because of ____ diluting the experience which I understand. What I was trying to relay to him is that how is he saying that when the settings he most likely use is available to me and most likely those who want that competition flock to?? If he plays Pro/MLG playlists on say Halo, the noobs and casuals aren't likely to be playing in those modes so I'd take that to be the mode one plays if they're serious.

How can he speak so pompously about competition when I have access to the same playlist he most likely gravitates to?? He also mistook my post of saying halo 4 was "fun" for me saying I liked the changes brought to the game which disrupted the core mechanics of how the older Halo's were.

I played Smash Bros Melee for years and watched competitive players play online and learned advanced techniques which resulted from exploiting some combat mechanics. I'd be damned if someone told me I can't speak about playing that game because I never played in a tournament even though I was pretty good at it and knew how to use those techs against those I played. At the end of the day, what matters most is the results. If I can jump in and win then what does it matter where I got my experience from?? it's like people who say people who don't have a license or degree in ___ field can't speak about that subject. People can be erudite's and if the desired results are manifested, why even say anything??

Again the guy is just cantankerous for no reason. That's like someone saying you can't speak on politics if you never ran for mayor.

I'm pretty sure playing on whatever playlist isn't gonna be the same as an actual organized match

I don't know about your skill level, or what you could or can do, but if you haven't played at that level, then you haven't experienced it. and it is the highest level of competition

here Ill give you the top 4 gaming teams in the entire world

Team Dignatis
Team fnatic
team EG
Team Liquid

tell me, when you go to these sites.. these teams have the best video gamers in every game in the entire world except for call of duty (too low of prize money to care about)

do you see ANYTHING about MLG on ANY of these sites ?

You realize players under these banners compete in MLG tournaments....right? MLG is the biggest gaming league in the world. Also, why would other companies promote a rival company on their home page? sigh..

No way. Counter-strike is definitely more difficult to get good at than Quake. Quake is arcade-shooter at its finest, I never thought that game (or UT) was difficult at all. CS was challenging to get good at.

bruh... let me tell you something before we go into this argument. You a decent poster. But this aint what you want :whoa:

Quake is faster paced and has more variables to be good at it.

Counter Strike is the most basic but most popular FPS (at least at the height of its popularity)

its what call of duty is today. A joke in the gaming community. But people play it because it had cash tournaments.

ill put it like this,

NO ONE FROM COUNTER STRIKE COULD EVER GO TO QUAKE OR UNREAL TOURNAMENT AND BE GREAT. NO ONE. THEY TRIED MANY TIMES AND FAILED

on the flip side

ALMOST EVERY GREAT QUAKE AND UNREAL TOURNAMENT PLAYER WENT TO COUNTER STRIKE BECAUSE IT WAS SO EASY TO LEARN AND GET GREAT AT, AND THEY WOULD WIN TOURNAMENTS

for someone who says they follow counter strike, you should know that almost all the great cs players were former quake/unreal players. But not vice versa..

unreal tournament = highest ceiling, highest skill cap, hardest game in the entire world (of any genre) to master

quake = #2

fukk man call of duty 2 was harder to get good at than counter strike...

counter strike, theres nothing to master.. theres no dodge, theres no double dodge, theres no wall jumping, theres no teleporting, theres no real twitch shooting.. it was a slow paced game with very little movement over your own character (you can basic jump and you can basic crouch, that is it).. it just had a huge following, and at the time was where the money was at so thats why everyone played it. thats it dont get ya head gassed over that shyt.. It is the Twilight movies of FPS

quake is #2, it had less movements to get good at and wasnt as fast paced not only that way more players from unreal tournament won quake tournaments than the other way around

You may enjoy Unreal more but Quake is the most competitive FPS game of all time.

That's because Quake and UT came out before CS. It's fast paced nature and powerful weapons always made it easier for me :manny:

no real twitch shooting in CS? :stopitslime: just because people aren't flying through the air and jumping off walls doesn't mean it requires no twitch shooting.

Shooter skills translate to all games, a person may just be better at one shooter than another.

Stopped at halo 3. That was the only game I could say that I was truly good at. I used to be a Drew Brees with frag grenades and my BR was better than most.

Once they added load outs and perks I kinda lost interest. I found that my style of play had become obsolete as soon as people were able to escape via shields or sprinting around corners. I was being pretty much washed by the fact that someone could opt out of one on one BR by sprinting around the corner or deploying shield just long enough for help to arrive.

Instead of adapting I just quit entirely :russ: didn't even bother with halo 4

you are the only one in the entire world who feels this :yeshrug: this forum is already embarassing enough when it comes to shyt like this :snoop: and now we have someone who not only thinks CS takes more skill than Quake and Unreal Tournament ( :why: ) but also thinks those games werent even that hard to get good at ( :why: )

I think we are done here :stopitslime: i cant argue with this amount of ignorance

:dwillhuh: theres no way you can possibly think MLG is the biggest league in the world after we just had fukking dream hack just this last weekend :snoop: and thats not even the biggest tournament/qualifier in the world :why:

Starcraft overseas alone has bigger leagues than MLG :why:
League of Legends has bigger weekend tournaments than the biggest cash prizes MLG has ever given out ever :why:
Same with DOTA 2 :why:

this forum starting to get real embarassing with the ignorant console dikk riding not knowin a fukkin thing but be posting on a tech forum :aicmon:

and I said go to those sites, they might have teams in MLG (I cant think of any off the top of my head, its usually complexity or some second rate team for call of duty) but they dont advertise it or care about it :bryan:

What do you mean why would TEAMS advertise MLG?? :bryan: they advertise all the other leagues they win/playing in.. except MLG :bryan:

MLG BIGGEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD :bryan:

HALO A COMPETITIVE GAME :bryan:

MLG Starcraft 2 twitch channel has 38 million views :bryan: theirs individual starcraft players with more views than that :bryan:

Their league of legends channel is at 38 million views as well :bryan: theres league of legend players with more views than that too :bryan:

Biggest league in the world, cant get more views than individual players casually playing on sunday nights :troll:

Lets not talk about how their call of duty channel only has 22 million views :scusthov:

but I thought no one cares about PC gaming :bryan:

How come 2 of the 3 main games MLG plays are PC exclusives :bryan:

UT 99 is good, 2004 was more team oriented, but Q3/Live will always be the GOAT competitive game. I only wish I poured more time into it as a teenager.

this makes no sense considering all the tournaments in ut 99 were ctf/tdm and all the tournaments in ut2k3 and ut2k4 were 1vs1

fukk man I feel like I post in opposite world on this forum :snoop:

I played Halo 3 competitive the most, it was well balanced. Start with a Battle Rifle, Rockets and Snipers spawned on the maps, and most maps were symmetrical. I hated Reach with a passion, I was good at it but I hated the power ups and the DMR. Only reason I gave Halo 4 a try was cause of the Battle Rifle return, again I was good at it but it wasn't as fun as H3. Ended up growing out of all that competitive shyt... played competitive Cod over the summer, shyt was too easy, got Master's rank in League Play like nothing :ehh:
Halo 3> BO2> H4> Reach.
(never played CE or H2)

What is this league play you speak of?? I stopped playing cod when bo2 came out. shyt sounds :noah:
I need an xbone asap :damn:
