Nas had a good 3-4 verses before he spit the verse on Verbal Intercourse. Raekwon basically told him to go harder.

...then he spit a 4 year old verse

The original version of "Ether" featured the line, "It should've been you in that plane crash"—referring to the plane crash Aaliyah died in.

very unprofessional to not give the source.

i will go through them all and point out the inconsistencies.

*edit*

1) 50 cent was not in the firm

2) nas got rid of his lexus cuz he wanted a better car than jay-z? i never heard that though i know they are referencing the lyrics from "the message"

from what i know nas lexus was repoed. maybe this is some ol carmen book ish. I say no.

yes. nas himself said he felt betrayed by marly marl, the two records that marley leaked and played on his radio show were "on the real" and "true dialect"

true dialect was released as a radio promo and nas himself said those features "on the real" were added after the fact. originally the song was a solo track. after nas decided not to fck wit marley the song was given to screwball or mega or whoever.

The original version of "Ether" featured the line, "It should've been you in that plane crash"—referring to the plane crash Aaliyah died in.
:ooh:

this is NOT true. those lyrics were from a show Nas did in upstate NY with green lantern the summer of 2001. dj absolut had a mixtape back in 2001 with some of ethers original lyrics on the cover. those lyrics were never confirmed.

that audio clip of nas aaliyah can be found online, I have also seen the video footage.

SMH at 50 Cent being in "The Firm". 50 Cent was down with "Bravehearts" at one point, not "The Firm". Sadat X was supposed to be "The Firm" at one point though.

Anyway is it safe to assume that Swizz still has the version of "Ether" (which was allegedly more Etherous) that he produced?

Imagine the look on Hov's face every time Swizz rolled up to the studio in a BMW.

He's gotta feel some type of way.

I do remember VAGUELY about sadat. u remember where you learned that

Rae and Nas go back way further than most think. They met on the Wild Pitch tour in 91. Im also convinced Rae wrote most of "Understanding" off Nas demo tape.

I remember readin that nas and rae met in 93. do you remembr where you learned that?

also I find your "understanding" theory interesting but its crackpot.

:whoa: pretty sure lost tapes is death of Escobar

yeah ziggiy is buggin. your actually wrong too. lost tapes is lost tapes.

death of escobar is technically 1999's nastradamus. that was the album that replaced it. 100% different tracklist though.

no songs from death of escobar made it to lost tapes or nastradamus. lost tapes is stillmatic and I am tracks. nastradamus is 99% newly recorded material that was done between mastering I AM and the end of the summer of 99. the 1% is project windows which was from original I AM.

Lost Tapes are unreleased songs from I Am ( Blaze A 50, Drunk By Myself, Fetus) and Stillmatic (Purple, Doo Rags, U Gotta Love It) packaged together...

Really?

I heard death of escobar when I was 16. It was released as a mixtape before Lost Tapes, and they were identical, just about.

I dunno, doesn't matter.

You realize that's exactly what I said right? Lost Tapes is Unreleased Stillmatic tracks and previously leaked/unreleased I Am tracks. It even says it on the liner notes of the CD...

the firm had a few different line ups after mega. nore was in the firm for a hot second too.

"tales from the hood" "wanna play rough" and "when thugs die" was from death of escobar.
