Complex platform or some sort of large publication platform is definitely needed. Without that, there is no legitimacy meaning no celeb guests, no passes at red carpets, no professional production setup, no producers to help out with the actual content creation, etc. etc.. Plus Complex is super valuable because they have a stronghold on the millennial and under 20 demo. Everyday Struggle's success has as much to do with Budden and Ak as it has to do with Complex's young subscribers / readers / fans who know and respect their content tuning in and making the show relevant.

You know how many views those "Sneaker Shopping with Complex" videos get? You know how much "clout" that Emily Oberg chick has? Or how many young people get their hip-hop news / opinions off Complex?

im not sure of buddens over numbers but ak has a billion youtube views. he’s helped break at least half a dozen mumble rappers. fukk red carpet passes, celebs would still go on their own platform if the views are right. just like record labels are begging ak to put their artist up on his instagram. its also not that hard to rent a studio and hire some editors.

i understand they will lose certain networks, but if they can push out the same numbers; people will flock to them. hell, they’d probably be able to pay their own salary off a patreon account

i PERSONALLY dont knock him for walking away from their offer because a.) i know it's a low-ball offer based off my personal experience in the industry, b.) because people like ak are already confirming joe had more to do with that show than just showing up and talking, and c.) i'm assuming joe has his shyt together and a plan to capitalize on the momentum he built. if that's not the case, then pat yourself on the back, you were right. but right now you just sound like you're holding a grudge against a nikka you dont even know.
