There's an interesting take I read on one of those YouTube videos regarding this topic. Joe can't really monetize on his own likeness based on some of Things that have occurred, such as the migos ice tray video, and all of the attention he has given the show by calling out people such as chance, Russ, little
Yachty etc..

I think that 5 million figure announced by complex is just some hack job to try to make look Joe bad, but I'm sure Joe wanted more money that complex could give. Its an internet show, With the format of a high budget television debate show. I'm sure it cost a lot to run and quite frankly complex doesn't have that kind of bread

Ak will be gone too. Yes, complex has given both of these guys in the desk a more notoriety and visibility, But they had been better for complex than complex has been to them.

Sorry for the s***** a** grammar, but I am at work and I'm using the talk to text feature

but that doesnt make sense if the contract is up. if those rumors are true, it would definitely be a “meet me in the middle” negotiation tactic

Example:
Makes sense, I do this sometimes when I get approached for some side gigs I'm not tryna flat out say no to

Rule of Thumb: You can't always decline (even politely). It comes off to the other person as you're not interested, thus them losing intrest in trying to book/sign/ reach out to you for opputunities. Now when you throw your price up there (knowing they're not gonna match the request) you make it seem more so as they can't afford you, thus still putting the accountability on them.
Hope I said that right

The 5 Million I can believe. This is the thing, overcharging is a normal business tactic people use when they don't want to do something, you overcharge them, and if they meet the quota, then you do it, and if they don't you walk away.

Joe probably didn't want to do the show anymore anyway, since he's in the works of branching off with his own show. So he asked them for a contract that he knew they would probably never agree to. It's a win win. They sign it, great, he gets his 5 Million and does the show. They don't? That's great too. I can leave now like I wanted to anyway, and do my own thing that I was already working on.

YOU KNOW DUDE WENT INTO THOSE NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE

You dudes really funny as hell :laff:

This wasn't no calculated plot by Joe Budden to leave and go on to greener pastures. This dumb nikka asked for 5 mill a year cause stupid muthafukkas gassed him up and he really thought he was worth that. His nerd ass followers have been a detriment to him for years. Dudes gassed him up unbelievably and made him think he was one of the greatest rappers of all time and he proceeded to disrespect better and legendary rappers and wound up with a swollen eye. This won't end well for Budden. It never does.

:dead: at cats in here acting like a dude that made most his money from being the butt of jokes on social media and reality tv is some shrewd business man that is making chess moves en route to being some Hip Hop mogul building an empire. Year from now he still gonna be a bum, on a podcast, that wifed a slore that birthed a kid that ain't his and y'all still gonna be gassing him up. He gonna regret not taking that 200 gs a year.

To your point, Joe has been on record of using that very exact tactic before (asking for a high number to go back on Love and Hip hop) years ago when he didn't want to return
