ak covers the same shyt complex news does but gets way more views. ak looks like he makes 6 figures

Ak's youtube videos aren't monetized so he doesn't make money there. He likely gets most of his money from twitch and possibly some payola.

Nvm, I didn't even know youtube delays the ads a few days now.

delusional according to who? you?

stop it breh. you dont know that man's business, you dont know what led to this.

i PERSONALLY dont knock him for walking away from their offer because a.) i know it's a low-ball offer based off my personal experience in the industry, b.) because people like ak are already confirming joe had more to do with that show than just showing up and talking, and c.) i'm assuming joe has his shyt together and a plan to capitalize on the momentum he built. if that's not the case, then pat yourself on the back, you were right. but right now you just sound like you're holding a grudge against a nikka you dont even know. :yeshrug:

Based on your "personal history" who do you know comparable to Joe Budden's status making $200k a year or more for being on a podcast several hours a week? Name em. Give us an example or examples that back up your claim that it's a lowball offer.

Also, why do you give Budden the benefit of the doubt in terms of what his moves are going to be moving forward? shyt is weird. Y'all dudes continue to act like this dude has been some expert navigator in regards to his career but all any sane person sees is him mostly taking Ls. Other than building a bigger fanbase of nerds and females by trolling, simping and straight up being a clown on social media and reality tv what has he done that makes you believe he made the wise decision here?

He will launch a podcast any day now
:dahell: Joe Budden having a podcast is how he got on the Complex show in the first place.

Nobody has to tell me anything. Turn your ad block off and click on a video of his and see if there's an ad there.

Talked subversive about Eminem...few days later he's off

:ohhh:

Might be more to that. Complex's former Chief Content Officer just became a VP at Def Jam. The new Def Jam President is Em's manager Paul Rosenberg.

:ohhh: I'm not even hip they switched it up to that. But damn doesn't that still fukk up the money? Videos get most of their views in the first couple days. Even moreso with Ak's content because they're time sensitive news stories.

Thank you. These dudes crying over Joe Budden of all people. He's disposable.

Turn down $200k because you're delusional :mjlol:

Turn down $200k because you feel somebody else gonna pay a d-list reality tv star/rapper more a year just to talk some vacuous shyt for a couple hours a week :mjlol:
ak made a good point on his stream. for however much he got paid, joe now has real street nikkas on his ass over EDS. he isnt making enough money to put his life on the line for that show.

Other than building a bigger fanbase of nerds and females by trolling, simping and straight up being a clown on social media and reality tv what has he done that makes you believe he made the wise decision here?

second point first. i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt until he gives me a reason to think otherwise. and right now he hasnt done anything to instill doubt, in my opinion. this wasnt him storming off set on some emo shyt and quitting. they made him an offer, he came back with another offer, they basically told him thanks but no thanks. there's tremendous value in having the confidence to say "sorry, i'm worth this, and if you dont give it to me i'll get it somewhere else." unfortunately, most of us have been conditioned to just be happy accepting someone else determining our value. but if you're willing to invest in yourself, if you're willing to do the work and you're ok with the sacrifices you have to make personally to see it through, why settle? seriously, remove the dollar signs you now know about. if you dont know the $$, is what he did really that stupid? he went really, really, really high. and it might come back to bite him. but if he has the numbers to prove his value, fukk it. why not.

and lol. all the shyt you're clowning him for are all the reasons people pay attention. you know this, right? they paid attention when it was joebudden tv. they paid attention when he took it to twitter. they paid attention at complex and he benefitted from having a larger platform. if he can secure the platform again, he'll be fine.

that said, it remains to be seen if joe can make all this shyt work out. but that's on him either way. i dont knock his decision.

and how much he deserves to be paid depends on a number of factors that have yet to be revealed:
  • is complex trying to find larger distribution for their shows beyond youtube? this is a huge one, and it's not just about television. some of these corporations are merging because they see the decline in linear, and they're trying to guarantee consumption on their mobile services/non-linear platforms by purchasing content creation wholesale. billions of dollars worth of wholesale, but still.
  • how much was joe involved in concepting the show? how much did his decision-making factor into the final product?
  • how much input does he have on guests and securing talent?
  • how much have views for the other shows complex posts to youtube around Everyday Struggle grown since the show began?
  • how much additional revenue is complex generating by monetizing their YT channels, and how much value has ES's daily numbers added to their bottom line (you ever notice that ES runs on the Complex News channel, but the Complex channel repackages the best moments and runs them on the main page, in between all the other bullshyt they run)?
there are some other factors, but potential future distribution, monetization and joe's actual role behind the scenes are the biggest.

there's also this... if complex is willing to offer $200k to stay, how much is another brand willing to put up to poach him? i would imagine at least 20-35% more, just based on salary jumps most people receive by switching jobs throughout their career.
