I'd agree with Life Is Good. Not sure about Rap music. El p production ain't what's up. I did like that album a lot though...RAP Music and Life Is Good are both better projects. I like Kendrick's music, but the hype is way out of control.

Ross? gKMC was way better than GFID and all the struggle singles Ross has dropped since then.i dont really care, to be honest.
if we're just talking mainstream, then i'd have to say rick ross by default. hes the most popular across the board.
with that said, the title of "best rapper out"(i dont use silly terms like "best rapper alive") really means nothing at this point with the way the industry has ruined the rap game and turned it into a joke.
honestly, i dont even know what youre talking about.
i havnt really been in the booth like that lately and i dont pay much attention to drake and i certainly dont pay any mind to anyone whos actually a fan of dude.
you must got me confused with somebody else.
this.
i dont listen to much mainstream hip-hop anymore. i just give a courtesy listen to whatever is new and keep it moving 90% of the time.
the true talents have been flushed out of the picture. its only gonna get worst from here.
Lol @ Nas, Kendricks 2 latest projects bombs all over any project Nas has dropped in the 2000s. I'm not trying to read any complex articles but I assume that they are not talking about careers but cats latest work and if that's the case I don't know why you are mention.... wait, it's Nas stans we are talking about![]()

this. nikkas acting like it's the 90's or even the early 000's. his time is done.Lol @ Nas, Kendricks 2 latest projects bombs all over any project Nas has dropped in the 2000s. so fukking what? nobody that's came out in the last few years who are mainstream are super lyrical. foh. y'all act like there hasn't been non lyrical rappers before now.And Kendrick is only lyrical if you compare him to other mainstream rappers. He's nowhere near the best lyricist when compared to nikkas that really can rhyme.

You don't need to limit your pick to just mainstream.ross has the streets. therefore he gets my vote by default. i dont care about this current era of mainstream rap enough to argue either way.
does curren$y count as mainstream? if so, i'll ride with him.
You don't need to limit your pick to just mainstream.
And Ross having the streets doesn't make the music good.
Know how I know you lying one way or the other...Drake Stans have dominated the first 2 pages of the forum this week and each thread indirectly about Kendrick.
You ain't forgot about that nikka, quit fronting.
I would disagree with you on the streets not supporting bad music, but it's more nuanced then just good or bad. The streets loved Cash Money right? That was wack to me. The streets loved 50 right? He was good on the mic an GRODT was good, but to me he shouldn't have blown the way he did. Then (or around the same time) Dipset blew with a dumbed down Cam and hi no talent lackeys. Some of the music was very entertaining, but it wasn't quality hip hop. It was more a guilty pleasure. Who had the streets next? Gucci? Wack. Jeezy? Meh. Seems to me the streets have had their heads up their asses for over a decade.ive yet to see anyone take over the streets with bad music. its really not even possible.
theres people that may linger around after they fall off, since rap is so stagnant & dry now. thats about it.
as for my pick, its hard to make a pick because you can make the hottest chit but you cant exactly be the best if nobody has ever heard of you. with that said, i mostly listen to local rappers. not just local in my city, but local guys period. the local/regional/underground guys are where its at now. but its hard to sit up here and say "______ is the best rapper out", only to receive blank stares.
right now i mostly check for jet life, ducktape, and philly dudes. theres alot of rappers that i listen to here-n-there but not on a level worth shouting them out over.

Can't say I've ever heard a Boosie song. Was he on wipe me down? Can he actually spit or is he more in The Gucci category@mobbinfms
i'll say this much tho........LIL BOOSIE COMING HOME.
AND ITS GONNA BE LIKE PAC IN '96.
thats when i'll get back to making bold statements about the current era.
