@DexterMorgan Stop playing the dumb strawman argument. He answered your question. Dedicated servers are available to all xbox one games thru their MS Azure servers at significantly reduced cost than it would cost a dev to do it on their own. The infrastructure is already in place. Dedicated servers is a huge deal, don't play it down because Sony is lacking in this area. And since you are so amendment that he gives a answer to a question he has already answered, answer this please. Why is Sony making PS4 owners subs to PSN+ for multiplayer games without making any improvements to its online infrastructure?

Oh my bad. I thought I'd pull the quote out and make it easier for you

Xbot pressed for a link and responds :leon: this is quite a bewildering sight! :whoo:

Anyway thx, this is the first Ive seen of any official Microsoft person talking about this. How it works out remains to be seen but seems like a good idea :yeshrug:

And you should know better than "pulling quotes out" at this point, breh.

Just like I said, it's another bullet point

& you proved my point by using bullet points :deadmanny:

Anything Sony doesnt have is Microsoft PR to you stans. But you are literally the only person on earth trying to argue that dedicated servers aren't important. Not even your fellow fanboys will jump in with you on that one.

:snoop: at this thread. So much mis-information & it's mostly disingenuous.

3rd-party developers/publishers are responsible for the servers of their own games, not the platform holder. Sony is only responsible for the servers for PSN and their own 1st & 2nd party games. Microsoft is is only responsible for the servers for XBL and their own 1st & 2nd party games.

I never said that all games WILL have them. I said they will be AVAILABLE for all games. It's ultimately up to devs. Microsoft can't force them to use them. But according to devs the price and tools are so cheap and easy to use, that it wouldn't make sense NOT to take advantage of them.
But the point it's not free. Windows Azure is just another cloud service that they rent servers from. But if MS is going to make Windows Azure really cheap, provide tools, & make it easy to use for 3rd-party video game developers/publishers, it's only a matter of time (if they're not already doing it) before Google, Amazon, IBM, Rackspace, & etc. do the same thing. They not gonna allow MS to get all that business for themselves.

Why you keep spouting this BS over and over? All Xbox One games have dedicated servers available to them. It is apart of our platform, now the devs can opt out if they want.

You really need to read up on Azure this is not a new system and it takes years and billions of dollars set this system up world wide. Azure has data centers all over the world. You really don't know what you are talking about.

He's kind of right though. There are plenty of cloud providers and Amazon in particular is BETTER than Azure in regard to proliferation. All of these cloud services can and eventually will be widely used for gaming purposes. MS has a leg up in that it's already more integrated in several ways but that doesn't mean MS has something that can't be replicated on other platforms.

According to Microsoft they are cheap enough for small indie devs to take advantage of them. And that's what's really significant about "the cloud". Microsoft does all the legwork. Develops the tools to make it easy and then hands the servers to you for less than anyone else could. After that they maintain them for you. No other cloud service is close to being able to do this especially at such a low price. It's crazy to me that people let their personal bias get in the way of recognizing how big a deal this is and how it could really push gaming forward.
