I am mainly talking about Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Singapore and Post WW2 Japan.

That's an interesting list.
  • HK was a British territory until 1999. All sorts of financial hustling happened there.
  • South Korea had major support from the US and Japan. In fact, SK's modernization was due in part of Japan's colonization of that country.
  • Japan has had major financial help from the US. It did create a culture of working for the benefit of the whole. But that has been stymied by sexism, deflation, and low birth rates as well.
  • China is currently in the process of raping Africa of its resources and through businesses. As well as manipulating its currency to make its goods cheaper. Also subsidizing its own businesses to keep out foreign businesses.

The only unknown for me is Singapore.

2, and I’m always on the look out for black entrepreneurs looking to get something dope off the ground... but there aren’t many in central California(the red part of Cali).

:comeon:And no they aren’t being paid a “living wage”... let’s get that out there now.

Out of how many employees? if you don't mind answering.

As black business owner it should be that other way around, 7 black 2 non-black.

Interesting question. :jbhmm:

But now you get into, do you hire black people who could not be the best for the job or do you hire the best for the job no matter the color? If they're not the best for the job can you level them up quickly? If so, how long will they stay? Do you invest in training that person only to risk them taking that skill to another company? Even as a black business owner, you have to take these issues into account. At the end of the day, you're still a business owner.

But I agree, it is far more favorable for a black business owner to have his business run by majority black people. You just have to make sure they all share the basic vision of doing black business and hopefully they have optimal vision of sharing the vision of the business owner. :dame:

I didn't put a lot of thoughts into this, but when white people open a business they mostly hire other white people, I just think we should do the same.

Fair. For the most part, I agree. But white people have more opportunity to hire their own simply because there are more of them. They can take that particular risk that black folk can't.

@DEAD7 I don't know how feasible it is to your business I believe one is a bar so they may be tipped, but if they aren't is there a path or an effort in place to move them toward the higher paying roles at your current company or provide them with the skills needed to maybe take on that better paying role elsewhere.

*This assumes they are interested

As opposed to making it easier on them so they’re comfy and never threaten the system of white supremacy.

Option 2 seems reasonable, but I still don’t believe the damage to social cohesion would be worth it...
It would just open the door for another Trump...

Whites don’t actually have to be marginalized to feel like they are.

is it oochie wally or one mic?

Bar and Laundrymat.
... and not really, bar tenders are tipped but will probably never see more than $16/hr wage wise and that’s being generous.
:yeshrug:

On the other end, the only barrier is a bar tending liscense and i overlook things like felonies/work history. If you interview well and are bringing new customers with you, you’ll get a shot.

Also I’m a partner, not sole owner and my partner is white.
I feel that’s relevant.

I don’t know if this is as feasible in the service sector as elsewhere.
Serving drinks at a dive bar or keeping a laundryroom clean really shouldn’t be anyone’s endgame.

:hubie:That’s just my opinion tho

Understood Just thought it would help clarify as I'm sure others might be wondering.

I'd heard you speak on it before
