Considering the tech, we have basically arrived at the Dawn of that era. Some of the speedboats and race cars we have defy logic at times and folks already got legitamite air and water powered hover crafts. I think a ton of that element they were predicting was a bit too much to expect commercially
BUT

At the same time, I do think to myself
What if we were capable of exceeding those imaginative expectations and we actually have been developing slower than we should on purpose?

You right, most of that shyt from old movies is possible but commercial it doesn’t make sense to do, for example the idea of having flying cars is illogical when folks can barley drive on the ground, legal and safety issues will keep cars from flying
Maybe autonomous flying cars could work but I think the government would rather have clear skies

Neil Degrass Tyson spoke on flying cars. They could easily be implemented. The problem is the sound. Imagine all the cars on the road but they have airplane engines in them.. shyt would be insane.

People haven't thought it through because they've watched Star Wars, The Fifth Element, the Jetsons, Back to the Future and they think it'll be cool



Not realizing that all the problems with cars now will be magnified with cars flying around. Because then you'll have to worry about people making mistakes or the car computers messing up and flying the cars into people's homes, skyscrapers, powerlines, trees, etc...

And also just random problems will happen. Because what if the car just loses power and falls out of the sky?
