Dr Umar Johnson is a smart man. He is smart that he has been through the schooling, passed and has obtained certifications.
However do not get it twisted, he isnt malcom, he isnt martin, jesse, sharpton, he's not even
amos wilson (who if you really want to learn about yourself and black psychology you need to read up on or listen to his recorded discussions)
This dude is smart, he keeps employed and is doing well, however its by keeping his foot on the neck of the lower and lowest class of african americans. I wont say he is preaching hate, because he isnt. However he is perpetuating the cycle of hatred and disdain for white people and painting them as evil while painting us, our actions and our results as victims or victimization.
He doesnt and cant preach that same shyt to a lot of middle class and even less upper class african americans because we are above that shyt. We are above letting others and various circumstances determine our lifes outcomes. Its not to say we have overcome adversity, or dont see racism and such but because we have successfully overcome the obstacles
individually.
There isnt particularly anything wrong with a black child who isnt good at math. They just suck. Now compare that to the white kids in the class and the asian kids in the class who study 1hr a day, 2 hrs a day, 5 hours a week and so on. Realistically it makes since. As an african american person if I had math for 1 hr a day or one period and only open the book during class. Im going to suck, the same for the white kid, the same for the asian kid. Its hard to say that a sensible african american child will say 'ive had enough, im tired of failing these tests and tired of seeing my peers (classmates) progress to the next level while I cant get past algebra."
Sure there are 'traps' that we fall into, we might want to play sports (football or basketball) and we may be attracted to the fast life (rapping or selling drugs). However that shyt doesnt fly because others have those same outlets, they just channel them differently.
As an African American I may want to rap, or make beats. But I wont be in band or choir at school. Its a suburban thing for a white kid to have a garage band or have a guitar and play that, they may even have a little side gig and play some music, have music lessons but they are more prone to being in band or so and actually learning, they dont fall into (or always fall into) doing what they
want to do prior to doing what they need to do.
Umar Johnson is quick to discredit the black man who dates a white woman, he discusses how whites dont marry down.
You wont see a rich white girl with a no name broke black guy, but look at the nfl and the nba a bunch of rich black guys with no name broke white girls. GREAT POINT!
Yet as far into detail that he goes into about interracial relationship he doesnt delve into the dynamics of black relationships, and particularly successful black relationships.
Black psychology is a real topic, the family dynamics, socio-economics, psychosocial relationships all of it. But instead of being the black Carl Rogers. He is a guy who knows his white psychology understands what doesnt correlate with african americans, but doesnt elaborate.
He's the kind of guy that if you have some sense in your head and really wanted to have a legitimate discussion, would write you off as being a c00n or a part of the white mans system for not understanding.
This dude is legit, like I said he is smart, he does help people, but the videos he shows and the segments you can watch on his site and such are a bunch of shock value one liners and punchlines that after 10-15mins yours like

this guy is the truth.
Its kind of like people who dont read the articles newspaper but can recite the headline. They can read Obama's approval rate at 43% but then you ask them why and they are like "well...because....you see......" Umar Johnson can spit off and rattle a bunch of 'headlines' that you can say to other african americans who may not be so smart that will make you seem like you know what the fukk your talking about, but as i stated earlier rarely does he delve into detail.
We can all come together an list the problems on the problems of the problems. And honestly we could come together and toss around viable ideas about solutions. Umar Johnson doesnt have too many solutions, nor is he actively seeking them, he is one that will tell you what not to do though.
