We don't trust each other though. Indians and Chinese KNOW they are not apart of this culture, so they look out for each other. Too many black people think we are apart of this culture and we are not.
exactly
i also feel alot of it has to do with black people not respecting one another like duke said.
If Black Person A had a small business that requires equipment to be installed; phone, internet, email etc. They might very well know a black IT male or female also beginning his or her own enterprise that can provide the service and what should happen is the two of them working together to build and create money opportunities for one another. Instead the BP-A will decide to go to a larger corporation like AT&T...probably pay even more money because he imagines the other person wont do the job well and is inexperienced.

Or he will try to lowball the black person because theyre black so deserve a discount off that notion alone.

. Little stuff like that which just impedes everyone involved. I even see it with my moms shipping business that caters to the Ghanaian community.
I know that didnt happen to the likes of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs when they were coming up. And if it did, they coulda easily went to another white dude willing to invest whole-heartedly and respect them. Look at Facebook and Zuckerberg. That shyt while better or cleaner was still based on the blueprint that sites like Blackplanet created. But who is who now? Ones a billionaire...the other I dont even know his name.
I'm from Toronto so you can only imagine the multiculturalism I see. New Yorkers and such can probably relate too but its crazy seeing how ethnic groups enterprise and how we cant seem to do so.
